Playa del Carmen or Riviera Maya?? Honeymooon

We are debating on either Playa del Carmen (which I heard is very romantic) and Riviera Maya (couple activities)..

FH wants Riviera Maya and I want Playa del Carmen.. We already have a cruised lined up for the beginning of Septmeber (he choose that trip).. We both decided he chooses the vacation and I choose the HM. But I'm undecided just like FH!! They are both SUPER NICE!!

They are so close to each other either would be fine. I went to Riveria Maya in the summer and the way people spoke about it down there it sounded like the same area lol.

We had friends that got married at Playa del Carmen last year (we couldn't go because we had another wedding the same day :( ) But everyone that went said that it was absolutely beautiful, that the food was phenomenal, and the service fantastic! We did not hear one bad thing. We are considering it for our honeymoon as well!

We are going to Riviera Maya and I've heard nothing but wonderful things about it. What places are you looking at? We are staying at the Adventura Spa Palace

i heard playa del carmen is amazing... heard the airport was far from the riviera maya

We are looking to Blue Bay Grand Emeralda.. Its not far from Playa del Carmen.. I love the Royal at Playa del Carmen.. It seems to be more romantic and the party life seems good.. The ratings are awesome..

Playa del Carmen is about 15 minutes from Riviera Maya. My suggetion would be to pick the hotel you like best and then visit the other area. For either place I think you fly into Cancun and get transportion from your hotel. Another thing to note is that Cozumel is about a 45 min ferry ride away and I think the ferry leaves out of Playa del Carmen.
