Hi ladies...so I will try to keep it short. So for the first time in my LIFE i actually cried about not having a father around for this special time in my life. I found myself crying when listening to all the father/daughter songs not because I miss him in my life because I never knew what it felt like to have a father around. My mom did an amazing job filling that void. My brother will be walking me down the aisle in his absence because he is the only male role model that has been in my life and has always been very supportive with everything in my life. So I would like to have a brother/sister dance at my reception. My problem is that I can't seem to find a song that's appropriate for my brother and I to dance to. I want a song that sets the right mood, but isn't too serious (or daddy/daughterish). Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: Please advice...Brother/Sister Dance
My brother DJed at a wedding and the groom danced with his sister to 'You've Got A Friend In Me' (song from Toy Story). I actually thought it was cute and fun.

You've got a friend in me, Forever Young, Hero. Look into some country music - someone should have a song that fits.
Are you dancing with your mom too? I was going to say maybe you can break it up if you can't find the 'right' one. Like start with your mom then your brother joins in kinda thing.

My father passed away a few years ago, and my brother and mother gave me away. My brother and I danced to Rascal Flatts - ' My Wish.' It was wonderful. Good luck!

Re: Please advice...Brother/Sister Dance
I had a sibling dance because I am very close to my brother, and since my sister was MOH I wanted to do something to honor him too. DH also danced with his sister and then we had my sister join in, it turned out to be a really nice surprise for all of them. The song I chose was Through the years by Kenny Rogers. I think it the words are very fitting, Good Luck!

Re: Please advice...Brother/Sister Dance
I was wondering if other people did this. I wanted to but dont wanna dance with my father, but prob will to save the drama. Our mom died 7ys ago and a year after (to the day) that my brother wife, who has having trouble getting pregnant, gave birth to twin girls. I wanted to dance with him in honor of our mother to Martina McBride- In my daughters Eyes... Im afraid I'll be sobbing too much though.
Maybe one for your brother could be Celine DIon, bc you loved me. My bro and I are very close and that song is pretty fitting.

I thought about doing this, but I think I'm chickening out and not doing any dances besides the Bride & Groom first dance.

This is a great suggestion...I think I will dance with both my mom and my brother to break it up

Re: Please advice...Brother/Sister Dance
Probably NOT the mood you're going for, but my brother and I rocked out to Billy Idol's 'White Wedding.' LOL
'Hey little sister what have you done? Hey little sister, who's your only one?...' etc.
It was totally fun (he has some great 80s moves), and my mom thought it was hysterical.
