Re: Leonards of Great neck

blah--- that *****!! hope everyone feels better!!! FH actually asked to see the kitched in every place we looked at. (he's a chef and you have to be certified to food safety as was I when I was a store manage) You would be shocked when we walked out how many violations he would see. (he spotted more since he worked in a restraunt. I just ran my own starbucks not a kitchen). There were some nice RH we turned down because of the kitchens. We tell everyone to check the kitchen! If they say they so no or to come back it means they dont keep it to standard at all times, some said yes and it still had some serrrious issues, and some were completely fine!! It's scary thinking how many people some of these halls are feeding!

OMGGGGGG thats horrible!!! I was sooooo turned off by Leornards, YES thier prices were GREAT BUT first they dont take appts, then we walked in and they had to be like 8-10 couples waiting to be helped. I told the receptionist I felt I was in a doctor's office!!! We waited about an hour to see someone and he was not professional at all.

Hope you dad feels better!!!!

Re: Leonards of Great neck

I made an appointment at Leonards and had no trouble getting good service. There was a small wait only because it was a Saturday morning but if you go at high peak times (Sat afternoons- Sundays), then you should expect to wait. I had a worse experience at Verdis of Westbury, I was basically ignored. I don't think I went to the Metropolitan, most of the events I've heard that took place there were Bar Mitvahs, Sweet 16s and office holiday parties - I never thought of it as a wedding place.

I had a good experience at Leonards and also went to a wedding there last year. The food was good. Did any other guests get food poisoning or was it just your dad? Why post that Leonards is a bad RH just because 1 person got food poisoning? If it really was that bad, then several guests would've been affected and they would have several Health Code violations, so I really don't buy this story too much, sorry.

my sister got married there lat year. imo, the food was ok, nothing extraordinary, and it is kind of like a wedding shop, with so many wedding going on at the same time. everyone saw everyone else in the hallways, brides, guests. it was a bit of a mess, but the wedding was fun.
hope your dad feels better!

Whoa she never said it was a bad RH, she just had a bad experience and is giving everyone a heads up.

One of my good friends had her Sweet 16 there - that was 8 years ago - I thought the place was GORGEOUS but I also got sick from the food. However, as far as I know I'm the only one who got sick at that party. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
