i'm having my ceremony at the RH so is this a church thing only? what's the meaning of it? is it a religious thing? I feel like a dumba$$ but I'd rather ask you girls

If actually has no religous significance. I think if your catholic, some churchs don't even allow it. From what I gather, it's done after the vows are read and if pretty much symbolized the joining on 2 families to one. (I think the parents or mothers light the little candles, and the bride and groom light the big one together)

where did this 'tradition' come from and why. Why are you girls doing it?
To be honest, I don't know where it came from. I am fairly religious and will definitely be having one. I believe it is a symbol of the two coming together as 1. It is a catholic thing. I've seen girls do the sand thing though as well.
