Re: Please Explain WW...

ok basically you pay by the week or you can get a monthly pass. i'm a lifetime member so i'm not sure of the cost but i think its like 15-20 a week.

you get a set # of points based on your age, sex, weight and how active you are. then you get a point value of each food and you add them up to stay under that daily #.

you also get an extra 35 points for the week to splurge but i rarely used mine.

you go to meetings and they discuss nutrition, holidays etc.

you weigh in every week.

its amazing. changed my life.

Re: Please Explain WW...

I did it like 2.5 years ago and lost almost 20 pounds and felt so much better. I have gained the weight back but I just started again 2 weeks ago and so far as good. You should try it.

Re: Please Explain WW...

i did it through my job 2 years ago (they offered a lunchtime session) and we paid I think $60 for 8 weeks; but that was a discounted rate.
I do not know their current rate but you can prob find it online.
You go to weekly meetings and then for an additional fee you get access to their online tools.
I literally just asked a friend of mine to borrow her point book to copy it lol I did not find the meetings too enjoyable but that is just me.
I know a lot of people have been successful on it.

For me, looking at a picture of my wedding dress is my motivation to lose my 15lbs!!!

Re: Please Explain WW...

I just joined WW last week with my mom and I love it. It's very easy to follow and you can figure out the points to just about any food so it's OK to go out once in a while. I went for my first weigh in today and lost 2 lbs. My mom lost 3

Re: Please Explain WW...

Crashing.........

It's $13 per week, $194 for 17 weeks, or $39.95 for the month.

You take a quiz and get your Daily Points Target. This is actually the MINIMUM you should eat everyday - NOT a number to stay under.

In addition to that Daily Points Target, you get an additional Weekly Points Allowance of 35 points PER WEEK to do whatever you want with them (hence the minimum daily points).

Every food and drink has a points value which is based on calories, fat, and fiber in a food.

You go to a center, weigh in with a receptionist (privately), and then sit for the meeting. Every week it's a different topic, and you share challenges, advice, strategies, etc with the other members and leader.

You're given TONS of literature and tools to use, and learn how to live a healthy lifestyle. YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO BUY ANY SPECIFIC FOOD. In fact, WW encourages eating REAL foods instead.

If you have any other questions, feel free to FM me. I lost 46 pounds on WW almost 4 years ago, and I'm a leader for them now.

So you recommed me to do this?

Is it really easy to understand their points?

So it should be around $20 per week...

Re: Please Explain WW...

I first did Weight Watchers 5 years ago and dropped 55lbs.

I gained about 20 or so back since then, but am back at it now. I have only been on it strictly for two weeks now and have lost 4lbs. I don't go to the meetings, since I already have all the materials from the first time I did it.

I really like the WW system. I find the points really easy. It allows you to have a healthy and balanced diet, with the flexibility to indulge at times. I think the biggest advantage of WW is the hunger tracking. You learn how to control and realize what hunger actually is and control your portions.

Re: Please Explain WW...

also to add to - I heart WW. It's the only thing that works. it teaches you how to eat correctly and you never feel like you are missing out on anything.

If you love these boards, you'll find that the WW boards are also super helpful and motivating! i live on both LIW and WW.com!

i'm a monthly pass member that needs to do meetings to be successful. I allowed myself to celebrate my engagement all summer and tried doing it on my own - yeah i gained back 5 of my 40lbs in the last 4 months, but now that school is back in session, i'm back on my WW horse FOREVER - it's a lifestyle - not a quickfix.
