Please give me your opinions...

I am not from Long Island...but am getting married there. I have found a few places for hair and makeup, unfortunately, I'm on a tight budget and have to keep my trials to a minimum.

I think I have narrowed down my choices to...Jennifer from Fairytale Makeovers, Maximus Salon and Cactus Salon.

Could you all give me your opinions on them and let me know whether you've went for trials there, had your hair and makeup done by them, etc.

I appreciate all of your help!

I used Jen from FTM for hair and make-up and found her wonderful!! I couldn't have felt more beautiful. I found her prices reasonable and most of my wedding party also used her.

I looked into using Maximus - but found it too expensive for me.

I don't know about the salons but I am having my hair and makeup done by Fairytale because she does the airbrushing and I wanted it to last the whole day. I don't think that they do the airbrushing at salons.

I was in a wedding about a year ago and had my hair done at Maximus in Merrick. I think the girls name was Melissa and she did a fantastic job! The entire wedding party had their hair done there, and I didn't hear one complaint from anyone. I have never been to Fairytale Makeovers, but I am def. a fan of Maximus. Good luck in whatever you choose!

I can't help you with specifics yet however i can simpathize with planning a wedding long distance.

I am using Jennifer from FTM. She is WONDERFUL! I had my hair and makeup trial with her maybe two or three weeks ago, and am going back for another hair trial (found another style I love). She is very easygoing, very accommodating, and super nice! I thought her prices were very reasonable too. She bent over backwards to get me the hair pins I want too. And I think she is even paying for them out of her pocket until my wedding day when I will reimburse her (though I keep asking her if she wants me to send a check for them now).
