Please give your opinion . . . NWR but family related
So Thursday night, I called my stepmom (who has been my mom since I was 11yrs old b.c my real mom passed away when I was 9) to talk to her about the fact that she has been pressuring my sister to get a date or a boyfriend (really a husband). I wanted to tell her or ask her to stop putting so much pressure on her. So right away she starts raising her voice and I asked her to calm down and lower her voice. She got so enraged she hung up on me.
Okay . . . now it's two days later and my dad calls my sister to tell her to call our stepmom. My step mom starts yelling at my sister and my sister ends up crying - so my mom tells her she can't talk to her if she is crying - and my mom tells her that she needs to grow thicker skin and she is being 'weak' and she hangs up on my sister.
Now this has escalated to a whole fight. I called my dad and said he needs to talk to her and he said he can't. Then he proceeds to agree with her that my sister and I are being too sensitive and I should apologize to my mom b./c this is a stupid fight over nothing.
OMG. . . I went crazy! I said no-way - She needs to apologize to me - she is the that is blowing this whole thing out of proportion and acting like a five year old by hanging up on us.
Sorry it's so long . . . and there is more but you get the point. I am asking you . . . who is overreacting? My sister and I think my mom is being highly irrational - do you? TIA
