Please help!

Please help!

This may seem totally superficial, but I really do need your help deciding between two churches for my wedding ceremony.

My FH is protestant and I was raised Catholic. My FH will not convert, therefore I left it up to him to find a protestant church and a pastor who would perform our ceremony for us.

He found two churches of very similar beliefs and equally distant from our homes and our reception hall. He doesn't care which one I ultimately will pick for our ceremony.

My question is: should I
(a) go with the gorgeous church with your typical boring pastor with no personality, or
(b) go with the run-down chapel with the friendly pastor that would make all of us feel welcome and special?

Right now I'm 80% sure I would like option #2.
This is really important to me, and I want to make sure I won't regret my decision.

Well, this is kinda hard I would say go with number two but can rent a church for a day. I don't think you would want to be in a run down church because of pictures and stuff. I know that some churches (not Catholic) rent their churches for weddings

Hope this helps

Personally, I would go with # 2. Having a friendly pastor that would make us feel special on our wedding day would be more important to me than the look of the church.

Number 2, I think this will make the ceremony more special.

Unless most of your guests are superficial I would choose #2. It is the meaning behind the ceremony that will stand out in most peoples mind, not what the church looks like. I would much rather have people remember a beautiful ceremony for its whole meaning rather than what the buidling looked like.

I am minority here, but I would go with #1.
The pictures is what lasts, and I would want a church that I could take many beautiful pictures in and would look beautifully in the album.

How long is the ceremony?

I am jewish, so ours only last half hour. I think for half hour I would sacrafice personality with a lifetime of beautiful pics.

I am told that the typical ceremony is 45 - 50 minutes long. During this time, we would have two readings (one in english, one in spanish), a message from the pastor (~15 minutes), the exchange of vows, etc.

My family is used to seeing beautiful churches all the time, whereas my FH's family would not care very much about that, I'm sure.

The reasons I consider option #1 are:
-photos and video (I will be seeing these images for the rest of my life)
-my catholic family won't criticize my decision to marry outside the church if they see our selected church is pretty

The impression I have about pastor #2 is he loves what he does, he works with couples all the time and he is genuinely happy and excited for us. He was not pushy, and I didn't feel pressure to join the congregation after the ceremony.

Is there an option #3? I would consider getting a different person to marry you in the pretty church. Why not have it all?

How about the pastor from #2 in the pretty church?
