Ok I was doing the seating chart last night (PIA) but FH wanted to change it around. I made 3 bridal party tables so my BP can sit with their significant others (some are married) FH thought it was tacky and said the bridal party should all have one table and significant others on another table. I hate this idea. I feel like if I was at the wedding I would be pissed that i wasn't sitting with my husband. For those who have a married person in your BP are you having them sit with their significant other? I am so confused!

Re: PLEASE HELP!!!
I have my bridal party at a few tables. I sat them based on who they know and would have fun with. I don't think it's really necessary to have them sit all together, but I guess it's just a matter of personal taste.

Re: PLEASE HELP!!!
My FH was the same way. He wanted the BP to be at the head table without their dates. I told him times have certainly changed. I have some people in the BP with their spouses and one friend from college who knows very few people at the wedding and her BF knows even less. I couldn't sit him alone with people he doesn't know!
Ask your FH how he would feel if the two of you were at a wedding (you or him in the BP) and NOT be able to sit together.....

I said the same thing I told him this ain't the 1990's its 2008 we dont have to follow the 'rules' he used to work in the catering business so has seen the BP all sitting together.
I asked him how he would feel and he said he wouldn't care lol I was shocked!
He said when we go on weds to finalize things, that I should ask and I will see that I am wrong haha I hope the maitre'd agrees with me!!

Re: PLEASE HELP!!!
Bridal party WITH their dates. I think doing the bridal party by themselves at a dias is gone with the 90s. but again, its all a matter of preference and if thats what you really want, go fo it!

Re: PLEASE HELP!!!
Definitely bridal party WITH their husbands, boyfriends, significant others. I'd be lost going to a wedding and having to sit at a table with either the BP that I don't know very well, or a bunch of wives or husbands of the BP that I don't know. Not that I can't live without my FH for a few hours, more so that it's awkward to sit and try to make conversation with people who know they've been 'thrown together' at this table.
And it's not just that. Even thinking about it now to answer your question, I treasure having gone to those weddings w/ my FH not only b/c we're friends/family with the bride & groom, but b/c FH and I had little 'moments' all night sitting next to each other. He'd whisper something just between the 2 of us, he'd sing along to sentimental song lyrics, he made me feel like I was the only one in the room. I can't imagine NOT sitting with him.
All the weddings I've been to have seated the BP with their significant others. From what I've noticed, everyone seems very comfortable this way. I was a BM in my friend's wedding last July, and FH and I were seated together at a table with my friend's friends. Then my FH was a GM in his friend's wedding in November, and we were seated together at a table with common friends. It made the night more enjoyable.
At my parents' wedding in 1971, they did the dais, with them in the center and their very small BP next to them on either side. It sounds more traditional, but it's not for me.

Re: PLEASE HELP!!!
I am having my wedding party and their guest sit together - we will have at least two tables to fit them all.
I went to a wedding a few years ago where I knew no one at all except for my date (who is now my FH) and the bridal party was seated at a table together. I had to sit on the other side of the room at a table of strangers. Needless to say, I did not have a good time because FH had to stay at his table for the most part.
