has anyone changed their middle name to their maiden name after marriage. For instance your name is jane ann doe and u married john smith. You want your new name to be jane doe smith. How would I go about doing this? Can i go down to social security or do i need to have this listed on my marriage liscense?'

I have friends who did that. When you fill out the application at SS, write your name exactly the way you want. Same thing at the DMV.

When my friend and I went to Social Security to get new cards, she was told that to change her middle name to her maiden name she has to go to court to legally change it....I would call them and ask....it you don't legally change it you might have trouble later on getting SS benefits etc. To change your last name to your husband/s last name, you only need the marriage certificate.
