Do any of you know what the typical amount (if any) that a trip gets discounted when booked through a travel agent would be? I receievd a price from a travel agent and it basically matched what I priced out myself. Although I would be getting free breakfast for two nights through the TA, I would think there would be a bigger savings than that. Am I wrong?

I found that booking through a TA sometimes isn't much cheaper. Plus, I am pretty sure they are tacking on some kind of extra charge because they have to get paid somehow, you know. The only time I would book through a TA is if I were planning a trip to different destinations. If you are just going to one place, you might be better off booking on your own.

Ugh. So annoying! We are going from Jade Mountain to Sandals Regency in St. Lucia. I don't expect tons of money off, but I thought it would be more than $100 dollars!!!

I mainly got a better flight which we couldn't find online without adding a few hundred bucks. So we decided to do a TA mainly for that. Plus it made me feel like I was going on a real adult vacation because I booked through one

I think the reason to book through a TA for your honeymoon is for piece of mind more than savings. Just incase anything goes wrong and you don't want to deal with any headaches on your honeymoon. But if you are just staying at one place price it out and tell the TA.
I remeber reading a travel article and it said the one time you should not try and book a trip on your own is your HM.
But, like the other ladies said if it is a simple booking at just one place it should not be a problem to book on your own.

That's exactly what I did my friend. I want to see the differences between travel agents to see if I am truly getting a good deal.
I am so IN LOVE with Jade Mountain. I have been stalking reviews and videos. I can't waaaaaait!!!!!
