Good morning everyone! So I am up to the part of the wedding planning that I have been dreading because of the strong personalities of my bridal party (the girls of course).
First off, all of my bridesmaids except for one live out of state. So, we all made the decision that we would pick the dresses from David's Bridal. Well, I was not too crazy with their bridesmaids dresses selection until my sister went there this past weekend and we fell in love with a dress she picked.
Welllll...one of my bridesmaid seems to think that Chiffon would not go well with my dress and that a satin material dress would look better.
Thoughts, opinions??

Honestly I am having the same issue and am going to David's Thursday! It's so hard with everyone's different opinions.
In the end, it is your wedding and you need to be happy. Do you like the chiffon look, is that the look you imagined for your girls??
I am sorry I am not to much help but I myself am going back and forth on the Chiffon look.. :(

No way!!!!!!!! It totally depends on what 'look' youre going for. I think the chiffon dress will give the girls a softer look. If you want something more than softer than you can go with the satin!
Dont let people tell you what they think will look good. Its your wedding-- follow your vision!
I had a tulle/lace dress and my girls were in taffeta!

I am sorry I am not to much help but I myself am going back and forth on the Chiffon look.. :(
I always loved the chiffon look just because we are having a Spring wedding, which will take place outside (God willing no rain) on the water. I think satin would be more fitting for a wedding taking place in a church or a Fall/Winter wedding. UGHH
You know I have been in a few weddings and some of the dresses were not my style but I would never dare say anything to the bride. If that's what she picked then why give my opinion.

You need to be happy! If you like the Chiffon look your Bridesmaids need to go with it, because in the end you need to be happy!
For spring outdoor weddings I actually love the Chiffon look also. I agree, Satin is more for a church indoor wedding.
Go with what you like your bridesmaids will wear it, and they should be happy you found a dress you love!!

It's about how you want them to look. It also does not need to be the same material as your dress.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of satin just because it's heavy and wrinkles a lot easier than chiffon. But it's ultimately up to you - pick what you like best!

Every one of my BMS is in a different state then me and each other, you can still order from other places besides Davids (we found a dress we all liked but ordered from RK Bridal who ships directly). But if you love a davids dress then totally do it.
Your BM's do not have to match your dress at all, my dress is satin theirs is chiffon and it looks fine. My mom wants them in Satin so they'd be shinier in photos, but its not like they'll be standing up on you in photos, so don't stress about material.
Just find a dress you are all happy with and it'll be great!

I dont see your album with the dress but anywho the Bm dresses do not have to match your dress material. It is your day and do what you want. I have 2 OOT BM's and they can call in their measurements. Check out Bridal Elegance in Huntington. I did not love David's Bridal BM seletion so I went on the hunt. HTH!

I am a brides maid in June and the brides dress is satin and we are all wearing chiffon. I was also a brides maid for a June wedding in 2004 and the same thing the bride was in satin and we were in chiffon. the material does not have to match. Plus chiffon is a light weight material and perfect for Spring and Summer weddings. But that is just my opinion. Best of luck picking your dresses!

Go with the chiffon! Its your wedding so your BM should just go with what you want. Its hard to please everyone, so just go with th look that you want....at the end of the day its your vision!

Sorry girls, it wasn't working before but I just put a picture of my dress and the bridesmaid dress we chose in my album. I also put a picture of my sister when she tried the dress on because it looks much better than the catalog pic.
Thanks all for your help. I am sticking with this dress!!
Now, as far as my FH wanting a white suit with patent leather converse sneakers, that might just become a new post because he is not budging LOL

The BM dresses has Satin in them. I think they will go great with a Satin dress. My girls are wearing chiffon, my dress is satin. It will look fine! It's your day, do what you like. I have 3 girls OOT, I ordered my dresses from The Wedding Center, and am having their dresses shipped to them after I inspect them (the store is shipping them for me, so no sales tax on theirs). you can so try other places, besides no matter what you want their dresses dyed at the same time. If your not 100% sure try other stores I did not let OOT BM's hurt my search for teh perfect BM dress.

Ok, so now I am getting really upset. The same bridesmaid I referred to earlier sent me a text message saying 'Is there any particular reason you chose chiffon? I am having a hard time envisioning the bridesmaid dresses with your dress.' and then 'I'm definitely gonna have to try that dress on ASAP. I think my hips are gonna look huge in it'.
This is really upsetting me....is the bridesmaids dress I chose really that ugly? ***

I think your BM is just being picky! I think the dress is beautiful. I actually have that 1 saved to my favorites on DB website. I love chiffon and plan to pick a dress in that material also. I'm not to crazy about satin. I don't see how your BM would be worried about her hips.. that dress would fall beautifully on many figures. I think satin would look worse if someone is worried about their hips! If you love the dress, then choose it! Its your day, your way! lol
