Because of the theme I would suggest maybe like a chicken place, like Zorns. They have excellent food. Maybe you could mix it up. Cook some easy BBQ food and cater the rest.

I agree with the above poster.

You can also look into renting a huge grill so you can barbeque a lot at the same time. We have family parties that are BBQs for over 50 people and my uncle usually gets a large grill. He cooks a bunch of different things at once.

Try these two websites.. they have specialize in BBQ's for parties..

http://www.nypicnics.com/picnic.htm

ny picnics has a luau theme also!.

i am also having a luau themed engagment party but since i am having it in a vfw hall i decided to get food catered in but if i had it outside i was going to go iwth NY picnics.

also the menu on NY picnics will give you an idea of Luau themed food to get catered in like hawaiian chicken, etc.

My brother had my sister in laws college grad party like 3 years ago and it was a luau theme. He actually found a deli that specialized in roasted/bbq foods and sold whole roasted pigs. I, myself, wouldn't even go near, let alone eat it... but everyone else raved about it!!!

We did Zorns this past weekend and it was great. We got fried chicken, bbq tenderloin (instead of ribs -- thought it may be a bit messy to eat), veggies, baked ziti...we also bought platters of cocktail shrimp from Costco and platters of tuna salad, cold cuts etc. from a local favorite deli.

They brought the food over, set everything up --- brilliant!

We are having a casual e-party outside too, about 95% of it will be catered, but we have someone that will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs for us as well.

There is a deli in Holtsville. I think it's called the Sports Deli? They cater luau's and they are VERY reasonable and Very professional. I'll try to get the # and correct name for you. They have catered a number of affairs for my ambulance company (Luau, Jamaican theme, American BBQ)

try Tru-Value Deli (516) 752-1017 732 Old Bethpage Rd, Old Bethpage, NY. FIL's have been using them for years. they did my FH's graduation party, my graduation party, our upcoming e-party which is an outdoor BBQ. they bring the grills and everything and very reasonable prices. they have all sorts of other themes like luau (with the pig and everything if you want it), italian... a bunch of other packages. i have never had a bad experience with them.
