Okay so FH and I have been debating this for DAYS.....Then we have a plan and my dad puts his 2 cents in and throws us back to square one. We are having a backyard e-party in 2 weeks....trying to keep costs down. We have approx 100 people (some kids) so approx 65 drinkers
We cannot figure out how much beer to buy. We debated kegs but then some people don't like that, but bottles are more $ and take up more space. Then my dad says get kegs of bud light and another beer and then do bottles of others (corona, etc) But then my dad continues that people will just drink the bottles because they like them better and they will run out.
Then I have to worry about wine bottles!!!!!!!!!
Then we are debating throwing a few hard liquor bottles in becuase they last longer (but then have to buy all the mixers)
I need opinions and I need them asap!
Please help

I would personally just stick with beer and wine, and if your trying to keep costs down then just get Kegs, if people don't have the options of bottles then they won't care! Adding liqour just makes things more complicated and more expensive!! Good luck :)

I vote kegs and bottles of wine and soda....liquor is SO NOT necessary, if you wanted to go a little nuts you could do frozen margaritas or a sangria or something so you have another option, that will definitely be cheaper than hard liquor.

Our e-party is next sunday and we have about 55 people coming. We are getting a quarter keg of miller lite and then bottles of Blue Moon, some wine and then the usual water, soda, vitamin water and stuff for kids.
They do have half kegs and quarter kegs, you don't have to get a full keg. I would go in to a store and talk to them and see how much each serves

I would do just kegs. If you want you can have guests chip in and bring alcohol. If you run of out alcohol I don't think it will be a big deal.

BEER and Wine, liquor get expensive ..some wine places i know Stew Leonards offer discount by the case.
I think you should just stick to the kegs and wine, and maybe get some cheapish wine and make sangria.

Stick with the kegs/wine. If you want to do liquor, you could always make a big jug of something, whether it's like mojitos or another drink you guys like

I would suggest just doing Kegs of beer and some bottles of wine. Don't think there is a need to do hard liquor and all that. And for the beer I think most ppl prefer a draft style beer over a bottle anyway.

Re: Please help FH and I stop debating!
We had a backyard bbq e-party for about 100 people and faced the same dilemma, especially because my family are beer drinkers (aka beer snobs haha).
We usually like having the variety of bottles, but clean up and cost is definitely a big issue for a big party. we opted for a quarter keg of pilsner, and a half keg of coors light and then white/blush wine, and the party was a hit.
No one missed the bottles cuz the kegs were all we had, but we still had one 'fancier' beer for people to start with and then once they were drunk coors light was fine. We kept limes near the kegs since 'bud light limes' are very popular in my fam.
If you are going to do kegs, don't do any bottles, because then people won't use the kegs. And the clean up is soooo much easier! And people stil had a fantastic time.
Hope that helps!!

if you know anyone that works in a bar or resturant you can get them to order the wine by the case really cheap.
also costco or bj's has cases of wine at a good price too
