Please Help - hair crisis

So I really wanted my long hair in loose curls. Unfortunately, it's stick thin and cannot hold a curl, as much as we have tried.

So I need to regroup.

I want hair half up, and the rest will be down straight. Can you guys send me pictures of your hair (or others you have collected), with a view of how it looks from the back?
