all the same or similar (color variation is no problem!)....maybe painted or beaded glass balls, crystal hearts or stars, snowflakes, etc...
I'm looking for something pretty/classy, not plastic or cutesy, and I don't want to spend over $4-5 each. (including wrapping)
preferably boxed....if its not boxed, it should be inexpensive enough that if I ordered boxes and tissue paper, it should be around $4-5 total.
I tried overstock.com, but nothing really helps me there. Pier 1 has some awesome ornaments, too.
I'm kind of stuck.... I don't know whether I should research and buy NOW, or wait until after Christmas when everything goes 1/2 price. I'm just concerned that whatever I like will be sold out by that time.
I feel like I have Lenox taste on a toilet-grade porcelin budget
or i knew someone that got reallly cute ornaments at Pottery Barn

I would wait until after Christmas and shop the 1/2 off.... Worst case scenario - like you said, you get a bunch of diff ones (similar) - hit up the Fortunoff Christmas store after Christmas - you may be able to find what you're looking for!!!
Also, since you're on a budget... Home Depot has a Christmas section now - I bet they have like a dozen crystal-like hearts or stars in one box for like $15-$20... then you can box them individually.... wrap them real elegantly and people will think you spent much more then you did!

This is exactly what we did.....we bought the boxed sets of ornaments (most of them had 18 per box) for just a couple of bucks each. Then I bought little christmas gift bags and green and red tissue paper. All together it came out to about $1.50 per ornament and everyone loved them. (We even got ribbon printed with our name and date and we glued them to the top so this would be how people would hang them from their tree) HTH

Also if you try the factory outlets after the christmas rush you probably will be able to find something. Maybe even your Lenox. Last year a friend of mine was able to get candle holders from lenox for $2 and they were boxed nicely

I would definitely wait until after Christmas.
My suggestions are
Pier1 Imports Target Marshalls sometimes has nice ones too.
I'd even check Macys because they have boxed sets sometimes and the day after Christmas everything goes 50percent off.
Can i just say I'm even more excited now

This doesn't help with the finding of the ornaments, but it could help with the cost. My friend got married two years ago and they had nice crystal ornaments and you took them off a Christmas tree. There was a sign next to the tree saying to take one as your favor. Then you wouldn't have to pay for nice boxes or wrapping....

I did Christmas ornament favors (see DIY album) and I bought them from the Lenox outlet right after theholidays. They were extremely helpful in helping me find enough and then I took several trips to get them at different stores (I needed 150). They were a huge hit and a great price. Definitely check out the outlets and other stores after christmas...you'll get a much better deal!
