Please help in choosing wedding gifts for co-workers!
I need your help ladies! Three of my co-workers are getting married in a few weeks - two on the same day (although one is a destination wedding) and the other a week later.
The bosses have asked me to purchase wedding gifts on their behalf for them. The limit is $250-350. They specifically said NO Gift Certificates.
What the F do I get them??? Here's some info on each - not sure if it'll help, but here's what I know...
CoWorker #1
She is registered and the only pricey items are her bedding things. For that price I could get her comforter ($279). I could add a $50 crystal bowl that she has on there too.
Nothing else is really in the price range I was given except her china, but if I order her two place settings, she very well may not get any other place settings b/c she has a lot of other things on there and her wedding is very close and not one of the china items has been bought yet (I think she'd end up with an incomplete set and would NOT buy the rest for herself b/c they have a lot of expenses). I could get a few smaller items, but the way I see it, other people can get her the more affordable (less expensive) stuff. ... Couple has been together for 12 years, have 2 kids, are looking to move into a new place in the next month or so. She specifically mentioned that she likes bedding, etc. Should I just go for the bedding?
UPDATE: getting her the bedding!
CoWorker #2
She is registered at two stores but only has a total of like 10 things - the one pricey thing (Kitchenaid stand mixer) has already been bought off one registry, but she also has it listed on another registry (no point in repeating a gift, right?). She has a serving platter that costs $200 on there. What would I get along with it? There's a matching serving bowl for $130, but she didn't put it on her registry. This is an older couple, first marriage for her, second for him.
UPDATE: boss told me they already decided on a different present for her and took care of it!
CoWorker #3
She isn't registered AT ALL. She's been with her FH for 8 years, have 2 kids, recently bought a new house. So I'm reluctant to buy her something for her home.
UPDATE: still need help deciding on something for this coworker! Robes not an option anymore.
Would something like crystal toasting flutes be appropriate for co workers #2 and #3? Or his/hers cashmere robes? Fancy silver picture frames?? Tiffany stuff (crystal bowls, candlesticks, etc)? I have no idea and need to get this done asap. Suggestion welcome (with locations on where I can get them, lol).
Thanks so much in advance!
I'm the go to person for these things, so I hope someone here remembers to get me something for my wedding! Can anyone say DYSON!!! Or Kitchenaid Stand Mixer and accessories?
See, they have good options for me... heck, none of my casual china was bought either - they could buy me my entire set (it's not fancy $$ china!).
