what is the difference between a basque and a dropped waist????? is one of them the pointy 'v' shaped one?

Basque waisted gowns are the ones that point in a V, I think a Drop Waisted gown is any gown in which the waist line falls below the natural waistline. Wow, I never ever thought I'd have a use for such a seemingly useless piece of information! LOL
