I was all set to start seeing DJs when FMIL calls and says she wants a band not a DJ. She feels since we're having our reception at Flowefield that a band is more appropriate. As far as i know bands are super expensive compared to DJs.

So, do you really think it makes a difference? Which do you think is better? I just want everyone to have a good time!!!!!

So now I have a new problem. As I said, inlaws want a band and so they looked into it for me which i didn't mind since i wasn't set on one or the other, price was more of a determing factor. Anyway, inlaws are good friends with a member of the 15 piece band called Right On, which supposedly travels around the country and even played at the last inaugaration for Pres Bush. They are willing to play for us for about $2000 as a favor to them. The only problem is that they are not available on my date. So I would have to push back my date by one week. I only have hall and church booked so far. My biggest problem is that one of my BMs might not be able to make it the following weekend. What do i do???????
Do I choose the amazing band and give up BM or stick with cheaper DJ, original date and keep my BM??????? Please help.!!!!!!!

Thats a tough one. I dont know-are you able to hear the band play? at a showcase or somewhere?

I went to a wedding recently that were highly recommended and well known where I live and they were good but really didnt compare to a DJ. I would want to hear them first and see.

I say forget the band. It would be more important for me to have my BM attend my wedding than a great band being there. Just MHO.

I agree. Your Friend is a Friend for Life. Your band is just for one day. But either way its your day. Good Luck this is a hard one.

If you are set on a band you don't have to stick with that band. There are tons of bands out there that are great. Yes, they would probably be more expensive but you could do well.

If you are still stuck on having a DJ-just get the DJ. I wouldn't change the date at all just to accommodate the band..there are more choices available to you.

You know in your heart what you want to do. Don't let everyone talk you out of what you really envisioned.

What if you moved your date up by one week? Would your BM be able to attend and is the band free? If not, I would probably just stick to the date you have so that your friend can still be in your wedding.
