I cant decide what kind of flooring I want- Pergo or ww carpet. We have a co-op, its a top unit so there is someone underneath us but we have a puppy, which is not 100% housebroken yet. I like the feel of carpet and I like the look of wood?! ahhh I am so undecided...

I have pergo and i hate it. It really is more work to clean. OUrs is the faux birchwood and it leaves little footprints from the kids. When the light hits it a certain way, it drives me crazy. Real wood floors don't do this.
I'm sorry that i let my hubby rip up the carpet.

I would get the carpet...especially since you are living over someone else.

i'd go with the carpet..it keeps your feet warmer in the winter and you won't be bothering the people below you..also if the doggy isn't housetrained he'll stain the wood floors instead of just the carpet which you could have steam cleaned.

I have pergo and really like it. I don't find it that bad to clean and it doesn't scratch like hardwood does (my upstairs is hardwood and my downstairs is pergo). I like carpeting but I find that worse to care for.

Doggie pee is what ruined the hardwood floors in our house that we just had to spend money to refinish since the original owners always had at least on dog, there were lots of bad stains.
So I vote carpet.
Also as someone who used to live in the ground floor apartment, the carpet would be nice to do for your neighbors too unless you want them to hear EVERYTHING.

i also vote for carpet because i use to live downstairs from someone with hardwood and if pergo sunds anything like hardwood yikes. i heard them walking all over the place and sometimes it got almost unbearable. i moved lol. carpets make better neighbors lol
