I have oily hair and now that winter is approaching my scalp tends to dry out. I dont put conditioner on my scalp because it tends to make my hair more oily. I have tried head and shoulders and Selson blue. They work great for the dry scalp but not for the oilyness. I am stuck on what to buy?? I cant take it anymore!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Try Dove Proage shampoo. It is pretty good, but it is hard to find.

Do you use conditioner?
My hair stylist told me to use shampoo ( I use Suave ) TWICE and NO conditioner. Not even a little and she knows when I cheat and yells at me.
I swore that I wouldnt be able to brush my hair after but you know what? It isn't that bad! and my hair looks great, I only wash it twice a week

I only put conditioner in the ends of my hair. I have long hair and am afraid it will knot too. I will have to try not using any and see if that helps out. Do use the Suave Daily Clarifying one??

ok, i have the SAME EXACT type of hair as you. After trying tons of shampoos, I've found that they only thing that works is to have 2-3 shampoos that you switch up daily.
The herbal essences line has been awesome for me! Hello Hydration and Drama Clean are awesome. Buy a few and change them up from day to day. I just keep 3 shampoos in my shower and use a different one every day.

I used to only use the conditioner on my ends too and my hairstylist NOTICED she said it still wasnt good enough. . . .
i switch between the suave clarifying and just the regular strawberry scented one. Sometimes I will shampoo once with each.

Re: Please help me find a good shampoo....
best advice i can give u... is to take shampoo BEFORE u get in the shower.. and massage ur scalp with it without water. then jump in the shower and follow your regular routine.
also stay away from spicy foods.

You should ask your stylist to recommend something for you.
For dry hair (mine gets dry!!) I loooove Kerastase bain Satin or KMS Moisture. Those are my two favorite shampoos and conditioners.

Re: Please help me find a good shampoo....
Sorry to crash, but have you tried the Aveda shampoos and conditioners? I used to have a lot of issues with my hair, but I started using their products and dont have the issues anymore.
I will warn you, their products are pricy ($25 for a large bottle) but I have had mine since May and still have half left.

Re: Please help me find a good shampoo....
I know it's expensive, but I use the Redken shampoo and conditioner b/c my hair tends to get very oily as well. I love it. Its like $15 PER bottle, so if you have extra cash and want to give it a try, go ahead. I would also advise to buy it in a salon.

Re: Please help me find a good shampoo....
My last three stylists, at three different salons, all recommended, KPAK by Joico. It has made an incredible difference in my hair. Although my hair is the opposite, they do have all different formulas. Its a bit pricey and with the wedding payments all due i couldnt afford a new bottle and have been using suave and herbal essence for the past week and oh boy has my hair been crappy.
