Please help me proofread my donation wording....

To Our Family & Friends,

With much thought & consideration, we have chosen a special way to say “Thank You” for sharing our wedding day with us.

In lieu of a traditional wedding favor, we have made a donation to the Susan J. Hughes Memorial Scholarship Fund at S.U.N.Y Geneseo.

We truly appreciate your being part of our special day.

Love,

(Our names)

Thank you.
I wasn't sure about the 'your being part' vs. 'you being a part ...'

i think it should be 'you being a part of our special day'. Your is possessive... so like 'your shoes' and for some reason it's not sounding right to me... but my english major is many years behind me so i could be wrong!

It looks good--one question--will people know why you are donating to that particular fund? If so than I think it's perfect, if not, if I was a guest I would love to see an 'in honor of....' or something explaining why that.....of course, it's simple as is, so maybe I'm just nosy

Re: Please help me proofread my donation wording....

I'm glad people are asking questions....
My family will not know who the foundation is for, only our friends, but everyone should know that FH and I both went to Geneseo. Basically, we originally wanted to do a donation to a scholarship fund at Geneseo, but then decided to do a donation in honor of someone we knew from college who passed away. Maybe I should put the website to the fund on the donation card to give people more info without being too wordy on the actual card.
What do you think?

Thanks again for your help!
