PLEASE help me save $$$

OK I'm trying to save money for hair/makeup and I have NO clue how to go about it.

Since I am an Sun afternoon bride, I need somone to come to my house early.

I've been told a mix of prices everywhere mostly from $200-300. Any ideas how or if I can even save?

Any advice?

I'd be willing to go early but most places don't open before 10 especially not on a sunday....i'm probably starting pictures around 8 so its too early.

I'd contact local salons. They may open up earlier for your wedding, and charge less than having a girl come to your house. $200 to $300 seems on the higher middle end. Do a search for hair and makeup on here. I'm sure you'll find someone who charges less.

The quotes I got WERE from people on here. I tried to get them down but they were basically like thanks I can't help you.

I specifically posted that I wanted to try and get combined as close to $100 as possible.

No one responded with prices in that range. One said she can do that IF all my girls did both (probably not gonna happen) she could give us a break. BUT my price was going to be $250.

i am a sunday morning bride - and my salon is opening on sunday for me! it's not my usual place, but one of my BMs goes there all the time. so i have a feeling they are doing me a favor. the place i sually go to wanted to charge me double! can you ask your regular place - or one of the places your BMs go to?

My sisters friend is probably going to be the best bet since other than her, two live in Manhattan and the other in DC. Hopefully she can give me the name of someone else.

I went to Expressions to have my make-up done. There are located in Mineola on Jericho Trpke. I think they are open on Sundays not sure give them a call. Good Luck...

Either way $150 for makeup and another $150 for hair still brings me to $300 which is WAY more than I want to pay.

Thanks, I probably should have mentioned I will be in suffolk since Mineola is WAY too far for me.

go to a salon..... i got my hair AND make-up done at a salon the day of and spent less than $150.00
my girls spent less than $50 on their hair.

I have a girl who will come to you and do updo's for $40 and a free trial so you can try her out and not be committed to booking with her, she doesn't have a license to do hair, but shes just doing an up-do (and she does a good job) so its not like your trusting her to color your hair, but she ONLY does up-do's if you need her info FM.. HTH-BTW all my girls are using her, I'm not having an updo so i will be using my normal hair girl the day of.

I'm not sure if I am doing an updo, too soon to tell since right now my hair is shorter. I am letting it grow but I don't think I want it completely up anyway. More half up/half down. is what i'm looking for.

Believe it or not some salons will open that early. Before we changed our date and deceided on an evening wedding we were doing it very early in the morning. Our ceremony was starting at 10am so my girl was willing to meet me at her salon at 7am to do my hair and makeup and even offered to come to my house for no extra charge. Call around you never know. I have a friend at work who is getting married in Rocky Point I could ask who she is using if you want. She is having her reception at the Atlantica, not sure what time. FM if you want me to ask who is doing her hair and makeup.

My girls and I went to Ulta and they were great! Make-up cost $30 but you get $30 worth or products and hair cost about 50-60 per person! They did an awesome job! Good luck!
