I have my tasting at the hall Thurday night. I told FH that I would wash his nice pants and one of his button downs for it. He said no, I'm wearing jeans - I said no way - its a nice night and everyone is wearing something nice.
So my question is this - should he wear jeans or just a nice pair of khackis and a short sleeve button down???
I know its a ridiculous question but I need to know I'm not crazy.

for a tasting? I don't think you have to be 'dressed up' really....but if you feel more comfortable, go for it! :-D

I think jeans are fine as long as their not ripped or anything... and a nice shirt to go with the jeans, not a t-shirt... JMO!

When I had my tasting at Flowerfield there were men wearing jeans and there were men wearing khakis...does that help?

I recently had another tasting at my hall and it was very informal. We were dressed only because we had come from work.
How does your hall do its tasting?

for flowerfield - maybe khakis....but it's not a huge deal!!! personally, i'm more confortable in jeans, so i'd prefer to wear them anywhere... what's the worst that can happen? they're not going to throw you out!!!

I have the same problem with my FH.
Do you think it's really a dress up sort of thing? If so press the issue with him. If not, don't worry about it. It's the food everyone will be concerned with anyway

FH doesn't own a nice pair of jeans - he either has nice or really crappy. I may try to compromise with him.
Dawnie - LOL.....it helps :)

If you can get him to wear jeans and a nice shirt - I consider it a good compromise. I don' t think most places have a dress code. But if you are going with your family and they are dressing up, mention that to him and he may change his mind.

i think you should go with the kahki idea. we had the same issue, my FH never! wants to get dressy. if it were up to him he would wear basketball shorts everywhere!
