i'm worried that the bridal party won't stand out as much then... the last wedding i went to EVERYONE wore black. Except me... i felt like i didnt get the memo.
I want people to know how special you all are without having to rent the short bus.

I'm doing black dresses. I'm not too worried about them blending in. Not many people, well not in my circle anyway, wear floor length gowns to weddings so though lots of women will be wearing black I would assume, I know my BMs will still stand out anyway.

That's a really good point!

I love your original color choice. You could do white/cream and have blue accents in the flowers. When I met with florists recently, I had a swatch of the dress and they were quick to point out, that with flowers it's hard to ever get an exact match. There is also the option of spraying flowers to match......

I like your original color dress - it's beautiful!
Instead of trying to match the flowers, why not go for creams and darker blues - like violet flowers? that would look great against the aqua-y blue...

I really like that first blue.
Yellows & greens and hot pink would be amazing with that color! You don't want blue'ish flowers or baby pink - you'd look all mommy like....not that it's a bad thing - but not for a wedding.
I would think you would want BRIGHT colors to pop off the dress....it's beautiful!!!

Thanks! That's what i was hoping for, other color suggestions... i guess i didnt make that clear.
I do not want to MATCH the color flowers to the dress exactly. I just don't want the flowers to clash with that shade of blue.
I am thinking of having the girls have ivory flowers, tied with or wrapped with fabric from their dress after alterations, and have me carry a mostly Ivory BoK with some blue flowers thrown in.
I want it all kind of simple. I was thinking of doing an orange/aqua thing, but it's just 'too much' for me and FH. we're really simple kind of people.
i want things to pop, but i don't want it to pop too much.
i'm confusing myself

You can try some Ivory flowers mixed with purple flowers to brighten up the dress, then your bo-k can really stand out.

I totally get it and LOVE the idea of using fabric from their dresses! I may have to steal that!!!!!
I wouldn't go orange/aqua - it's rather OUT THERE.... Maybe a bright yellow flower in the middle or beautiful green would be great. Even a very bright red would be a nice contrast....even in your boquet.
My girls are wearing cobalt blue and we're doing hot pinks, deep reds, greens & yellows so that it pops and isn't to - red, white and blue - all 4th of july type thing...

do you think HOT PINK flowers would work with my blue? I love the idea, and i think hot pink is far enough away from a baby pink to not look all babyshowerish.
what do you think? HONESTY IS KEY HERE! if you guys hate my ideas, please tell me and help me fix it!

I am always honest darlin!
Hot pink may look a little Miami Vice now that I think about it....with that pale blue - and bright pink.
I do like the DEEP purple idea. That would be really nice! Let me see if i can find an example!
