I'm sooo sorry for the delay in responding!! I had typed part of the directions, plugged in my laptop to recharge, then FH borrowed the computer to do some work and closed out this page........ meaning all I wrote was gone!! But, weird thing was, I copied the text before, so here's what I have so far.....

I have lots of layout experience, so let's see what I can help you with. I used to use PageMaker, but it's SO OLD it's not compatible w/ my new printer! So now I'm teaching myself to use PowerPoint, since it was recommended here on LIW. I'm not very good at it yet, but here's what I've learned so far:

Open up a new document, scroll over the top menu bar to INSERT, scroll down to PICTURE, then scroll over to the drop-down menu that says FROM FILE. This will call up a pop-up box with your pics. Scroll to find the pic you want, and click on it.

Double-click (I'm using a Mac) on the pic and a box pops up to change the dimensions, size, format, etc of the picture. Configure the pic to your dimensions. Then use a text box to type out what text you want.

I'm still learning how to lay text over a photo. I've been able to wrap it around a pic, on top, or below, but not on top (like white text on a dark background.)

If you're going to be making several items with the same dimensions (you said table numbers, so I'm assuming they'll all be the same size), save your original document where you absolutely love the layout design and put it in a folder so it's safe.... make a duplicate and work off that, copying a new one each time so each new document you open has the original dimensions, layout design, fonts, etc. All you'll have to do then is replace the photo with a new one if you're using different photos, and highlight the number to change it to the next one in sequence for the # of tables you have.

Does this make sense? Hope so!!

Hope this helps in the meantime!
