PLEASE Help my mom w/my SHOWER....

Hey ladies, I know many of you had your shower already. My mom is on a budget for my shower, and needs to start planning. She was thinking about doing a brunch for about 50 people. Anyone have any recommendations for her.
We need Queens or Nassau area.
THANKS

Milleridge cottage does a great brunch! I'm not sure how much they are pp, but it was lovely. They have a lot of rooms to choose from to fit your budget. If you're interested in Queens, there is Central/Ammos (in Astoria) which does lunch for about 45 or 50 pp and it's really good! Also, Douglaston Manor has a nice smaller room upstairs where I've been to showers...

I had my shower at Corbin and Reynolds in Long Beach... I had about 40-50 people...We had a brunch and the food was delicious. It was perfect and reasonably priced.

I went to many, many , many places in nassau county. The absolute min cost per person is $28-30 per person.
If you are going to spend that you might as well pick something you like.
My shower is in Sept & was helping my sister & bridal party. We are all in the same boat $$$.
We went to probably 25-20 places. There is nothing cheaper then this.
If anyone can prove me wrong.....let me know where it is. I need a place for my rehearsal dinner.

FYI_-- I only checked Nassau.

we're having our rehearsal lunch at cascarino's in bayside. I don't remember the exact price but we had to keep it pretty cheap so it's something like $22 pp. FM me if you'd like more info. Also, my shower was at laguna grille in garden city, my family was on a budget and I was told they really worked with them. You can also try giardinos in douglaston, and umberto's in new hyde park!

Did you check out St. James in Mineola? They have a great room that can accomodate a good size # of people. I think the brunch was around $20pp. Figuring if you order off the brunch menu its around $15 per plate with unlimted mimosa's, bloody mary's and screwdrivers.

The food there is really good and its a great place for a party...

What is St. James in Mineola? Is that the name of a restaurant?
My Family just checked places for lunch. We didn't really look into brunch because we felt funny with picking food from a brunch table (that is us) also didn't want eggs served at a shower. (I hope I didn't offend anyone) I am sure anyone who had this was wonderful...just not for us.

Paddy's Loft does a brunch and has a private room. . . she says they fit 45 comfortably, but could probably squeeze 50. . . lunch starts at 18.95 pp, but that doesn't include alcohol. . i'm not sure what brunch would cost, but she should def call!

Check out Sal's Place in Bethpage, on rt. 107. We had my sister's baby shower there last March, and I went another baby shower there last summer. I wouldn't be suprised if my shower is there either Nice place!

My shower is a brunch and will be at O'Neill's in Maspeth, Queens. It's a sportsbar/restaurant with several catering rooms and their prices are very reasonable. I've been there several times for showers and events, and the food and service are always excellent. John is the contact person for events.

O'Neill's Restaurant - Maspeth, Queens

Click Catering, then either Catering (again for lunch type foods) or Brunch Buffet (for breakfast foods).

Re: PLEASE Help my mom w/my SHOWER....

Also, I just thought of this.....

My sis had compiled a list of possible places for my shower around Maspeth/Middle Village/Rego Park since that's our neighborhood... you may want to check out these places in Queens.

Connelly's Corner - Grand Ave in Maspeth
Woodhaven House - Woodhaven Blvd in Rego Park
Joe Abbracciamento - Woodhaven Blvd in Rego Park
Cranberries - bar type place -- Maspeth

My mom's retirement party was at Connelly's last June -- good food, nice room, terrible parking situation (Grand Ave is NUTS!!)

My sis's baby shower was at Abbracciamento's..... excellent food & service!!! Complimentary valet parking. But even though they've been there for YEARS, they may be closing down to convert that block into condos!!

Good food in Woodhaven House -- don't remember the prices -- I had a date from HELL there when I was still on Match.com 2 months before I met FH!! Haven't been there since.

Cranberries -- never been there so I don' t know!

HTH!

My shower was at Il Nocello in Whitestone and my sister/mom got an amazing price for a buffet lunch- I think it was about $22 a person.

Davenport Press in Mineola is also pretty reasonably priced..Don't remember the exact price, but I remember it included a lot that other restaurants didn't. We had my cousins baby shower there back in January. The food was great.
