Please help - officially stressing!

Please help - officially stressing!

I will try to break this down simply.

I'm having a hair and make-up trial tomorrow (because it's my shower - yay!) so therefore I have not booked anyone yet.

I use to go to my mom's hairdresser but I was never crazy about it. She keeps asking about doing my hair for the wedding. She's my back-up but my mom is having this woman do her hair.

My bridesmaids want to get their hair and make-up done.

My ceremony is at 11 am. We have to meet the officiant at 10:30 am. We're taking pictures before hand.

My mom thinks the bridesmaids should be responsible for themselves - a point which I made clear they will be financially responsible for themselves - but since I'm getting ready at my mom's house and the photographer is going to be there, I want everyone to get ready there with me.

My mom is talking about going to her hairdresser's house in the morning to get her hair done and thinks the bridesmaids should also go elsewhere.

Then I'll be alone at the house getting ready?!

Please give me some advice. We are already going to have a hectic morning schedule and I don't know what to do.

Sorry this is ridiculously long.

I think you should get ready (hair and make up) by yourself.. when it's time to put the dress on is when you really need everyone else there, so that they can be in pictures..

Okay thank you. That makes me feel better.

Also forgot to mention one of my bridesmaids will be staying with me the night before so I guess she could get her hair and make-up done. I just feel bad if it's available to one girl and not the other two.

Haha, true true. I feel better now. My mom just got me mad because deep down she's pissed I'm not using her hairdresser for my wedding hair.

Re: Please help - officially stressing!

I'm in an extremely similar boat (except i figured out an answer hehe). Same ceremony time, also taking pics beforehand, etc

i was EXTREMELY stressed trying to figure this out. i had a few options:
-- tell them to just figure it out themselves (but i had already told them that i would take care of finding them hair & makeup people so i refused to go back on my word)
-- find a salon that would open early and be able to do hair and makeup for everyone (but the 3 salons i spoke with were super-expensive)
-- wake up super-early
-- get 2nd set of hair and makeup people to do just the BMs (this is what i ended up doing)

My day-of schedule is this (i have 4 BMs, 1 makeup person, and 2 hair people ... note that 2 BMs are not getting their makeup done)
6:30-7:30 my hair (hair person 1)
6:30-7:00 BM1 hair (hair 2)
6:30-7:00 BM2 makeup
7:00-7:30 BM2 hair (hair 2)
7:00-7:30 BM1 makeup
7:30-8:00 My Aunt hair (hair 1)
7:30-8:00 BM3 hair (hair 3)
7:30-8:30 me makeup
8:00-8:30 BM4 hair (hair 2)
8:30 Me & BMs drive over to RH
8:30-9:00 Mom's friend makeup
8:30-9:00 Mom hair (hair 2)
9:00-9:30 mom makeup
9:00-9:30 Mom's friend hair (hair 2)
9:30-10:00 my Aunt makeup
At the RH:
9:00-9:10 put on dress
9:10-10:00 pics with BP
9:45 parents and grandparents and FG and RB arrive
10:00-10:45 pics with BP and families
10:45-11:00 sign ketubah
11:00 ceremony

so in short:
if you haven't already told them, have your BMs get ready on their own. otherwise, either wake up early, or hire a 2nd hair & makeup person.

ps: Sorry this post is soooo long ...

I am also trying to figure out the logistics of hair/makeup etc.. my thing is that I want all my girls there with me for the fun and relaxing experience. I find the idea of being alone or w 1 other person kinda depressing but that's just me.

My advice is that I would find someone to come to house or where ull be to do girls hair or make up. And they pay for it. Its not expected that the bride pays for it.

Yesss I saw your timeline on another post and it's great because it's so so similar. Thanks for sharing. I'll have to talk to my BMs and see if they can make their own arrangements. But I'll also ask my hair/make-up person if they can do others just as a back-up.

Thanks ladies!

Is there a reason she doesn't want everyone at her house? I would think it would be easiest for everyone to be centrally located.

Nah my mom just gets on her, 'well when I was in weddings, people did this' mode. She said every wedding she was in, she showed up dressed and ready to go. I said, that's great that's fine. I've done that before. But the fact that we're having such an early morning start makes that harder. I'd prefer people to be centrally located.

Lucky, I'd say its harder for people to do their own thing when they need it so early in the morning, because salons aren't open. Did anyone else with a noon-ish ceremony have this problem?

Awaiting August - Great timeline... I've been hyperventilating about figuring out a schedule and getting up at 5am!

UGH. Just tell her it would mean a lot to you to have her and everyone else there getting ready together.
