PLEASE HELP! Questions About Petals for Petal Cones

Can anyone tell me how many petals they bought to fill their petal cones? I'm intending to buy/make 100 cones but I haven't a clue as to how much I should buy to fill them!

Oh and if anyone knows where I can buy the petals cheap (other than National Wholesale Floral b/c I live too far away to get them) I would appreciate it! I'd even purchase them from the internet.

Sorry I can't help you with this. I am also wondering the same. What I can do, is tell you where you can order premium quality roses and flower fillers DIRT CHEAP. The drawback is that you will need to find somewhere to store your flowers. You can't store them in a grocery refrigerator because there is something about the acid in produce that will ruin the flowers. I am in the process of looking for a vendor that will rent some space in their refrigerator for a few days prior to my wedding. It is a flower farm from Ecuador called Rose Elite. You can get Roses for .50 - .90 cents per stem. You will have to hydrate them yourself when you receive them, and remove all the thorns (there is a special tool called a Thorn Stripper) - and remove the lower leaves. Considering how much flowers cost, it should be worth the extra work. I suggest getting volunteers to help you.

Quantity recommendations for FREEZE DRIED:
Tossing: 1/3 to 1/2 cup per guest

Table decoration: 2 to 4 cups per table with centerpiece

Aisle, per square foot: 8 cups for dense, 4 cups for moderate, 2 cups for light, 1 cup for scattered.

Flower girl: 4 to 8 cups per flower girl


Quantity recommendations for SILK:
Tossing: 12 to 18 petals per guest

Table decoration: 50 to 100 petals per table with centerpiece for a light sprinkling

Aisle, coverage per 100 petals: 1 square foot for dense, 2 square feet for moderate, 5 square feet for light

Flower girl: 100 to 200 petals per flower girl
