I think my parents used the one off the LIE service road near Plainview. They saved my dog when he ate 28 of my dads blood pressure pills!!!!!!

I'm sorry about your kitty. Please make sure she drinks alot of water to keep her hydrated.
If you feel you should, get a 2nd opinion.
Good luck

Re: PLease help !!!! QUICK
i really hope she gets better...it is so scary b/c they can't tell you what is wrong (meaning the animal can't tell you) and you are helpless.

Re: PLease help !!!! QUICK
I now how you feel, my kitty was sick and they did not know what was wrong...turned out to be asthma but 600$ and an overnight stay is how I found out. I def. think you should get a second opinion. Has the kitty ever been tested for FIV or diabeties?

Re: PLease help !!!! QUICK
Hi Jaime,
I'm so sorry to hear about this
Could you get kitty some health insurance? It's worth the $120 a year ... especially if they haven't diagnosed her w/something specific (but make sure they wouldn't exclude this illness since she's shown symptoms).
Also, I would try a vet that is better and take her even if she's not really sick right then. Try a vet that will attempt some holistic therapy in combination with traditional therapy.
I know someone who had a cat that couldn't keep food down at all, and it turned out she was allergic to the preservatives in most cat foods. She switched her to a combination of vegetarian and organic cat foods, with supplements and guidance from a vet - two years later the cat is healthier than ever.
My mom's cat had diabetes that makes her sick a lot. Is your kitty losing a lot of weight?
I wish you the best. Drop me a line when you have time (try my e-mail, I'm not on this board all that often).
If you want the names of some vets in the city, I can give them to you. Or, I can ask my vet (holistic and alternative therapies in conjunction with traditional veterinary med) if he knows anyone on Long Island.
Also, we used the ASPCA for Maddy at first, and they were actually very good - and thorough.
