I'm in a wedding and dont want to spend a lot for shoes I'll wear once, so I'm looking for cheap dyables. I went to Love My Shoes and found cheap white satin shoes, but they were not in the dyables section. I assumed theywere still dyable since they are satin. But when I brought them up to the register, they said they're not dyable but couldn't tell me why. And since they're on sale, I could only exchange them, not get my $ back.
Does anyone know about dyable shoes? Why the same white satin would be dyable on one shoe and not another? Are there different satins that dont all take the dye?
I thought of payless also since that's where I bought shoes a few years ago for another frineds wedding, but they've changed their system. The 'dyeables' they have on display actaully aren't dyeable. You could buy them if you wanted white shoes but payless would have to order them and they're almost twice as much (37.99). That's a good price but I have to pay $20 to have them dyed so I'm trying to spend under $30 is possible.

Re: Please help! Shoe question.
Well I got my answer. From a customer service rep from dyeables.com:
'No, not all satin shoes are dyeable. Shoes that are dyeable are constructed specifically with a barrier coat and lining to prevent the dye bleeding through too much.'
