just a question - some of the people that RSVP'ed no have sent checks. is it OK to cash them now? and should I send a nice thank you card to them now or send them thank you's with everyone else ? i am thinking now...

yes, definitely OK to cash them now
i got one of those so far and i cashed teh check, and sent a generic thank you note
made a note to send them a real thank you after teh wedding

cash the check now - its not nice to keep a check forever because people need to balance their checking account. send a thank you card when you get your thank you's back from the wedding

I cashed the check now and will send a thank you note when I send all of the thank yous. If they see it cleared their account, they know you got the check.
