Please Help- Wedding manicure?

I am soo confused right now..
I am trying to figure out what to do for my wedding manicure and I am just not good with this stuff!

what is the difference between silk wraps? and uv permanent french?

Do they both give you extensions?

Does uv gel ruin your nails?

I am just interested in doing it for the wedding and the honeymoon, will either last for as long as two weeks?

Should i just get a regular mani? my nails would probably be the same lenght with the permanent and a regular french mani.. ( if i dont get extensions )

Okay. . . I am not a professional or anything BUT I just got silk wraps done. I was told to get them done about 2 wks bebfore the wedding and then get a fill-in the day before the wedding.

I believe that a Permanent french just means that the tips they put on you are white and your nails will always be that color (as long as you keep the tips). I'm not sure about the UV part of it.

I was told that the best thing for my nails - so they do not weaken too much was the silk wraps. I actually have them with a french manicure and I will do that for my wedding with some fancy glitter or something and maybe a little stone on the ring finger (we'll see).

I think that it was a good idea to get the tips early becaue I am having some difficulty getting used to them - and they are not long, jusdt longer than my natural names. Sometimes your fingers can get a little sore too from the pressure but it goes away after a day and it's not crazy sore - just a little uncomfortable.

well - I have had silk wrapped nails before and I think they look nice - I am thinking of getting them for my wedding - they will last two weeks ( probably)

I don't think though the nails of any kind are good for your real nails - but my nails really don't grow - if you have really nice nails I would go with your real nails that way you will have nice nails after the wedding and honeymoon are over

I have silk wraps, they last two to three weeks. They never chip or break your nails just grow so you can see that they need to get filled if that makes sence. If you are worried about chipping you could also get white power dip french (meaning the power they use on the top of ur nail dried white to look like french).

ok uv french is this...a little confusing because diff places call diff things uv french.

the main place that i go to, its done like this and this is usually the more expensive way but i like it better to be honest...

its not a white tip or any acyrlic tip at all, usually they do an extension by putting that paper thing on your nail and then they take this clear gel and make the extension and put your finger under this uv machine thing that hardens the gel. Now, they begin to put that same gel on every nail (its clear - sometimes a bluish or pinkish tint when its in the jar thingy) and when you have a full set of geled up nails on a hand, they put your hand under the uv. then they do the same with the other hand. they might repeat this twice since they file in between and everything. now it looks like you have a clear nail...next they make the white tip by using a white gel and what looks like they are painting it on the tip of the nail but its gel, then you go in the uv again to harden...when the hardening is done, they file and that its!! no nail polish or drying at all.

fill ins for this way are about every 2-3 weeks, (this doesnt mean that at 3 weeks a nail will break like regular tips...they never break ever!...just means it will start to grow out basically)
and it doesnt look half as bad as reg tips when it starts to grow out so you can def wait over 2 weeks if need be.

fill ins are like this, first time is the clear fill in and the next time is the white and clear fill and so on from there.

ok, next way is a few ways ive seen what they call permanent french but take that hwo you want it, i think the top way is the right way but whateva, lol

so some places put on a tip with white on the end and do it the same way they would do acrylyic reg tips and says thats permanent french. (this is usually the cheapest- which is should be!)

other places ive seen do parts of the first way but they use a powder instead of the gel and still put your hand under the uv but then i think they still use nail polish for the white tip---not too sure on all the ins and outs of this way but this is usually the mid priced version.

OK, hope this all helps, only thing is that sometimes the uv machine burns a little when you put your hand in there. me and one friend both have experienced that but its been totally bareable, its not that bad at all. on the other hand, i know 2 other ppl who had it the way with the powder and they said the uv machine was burning sooo badly! so i dont know if thats cuz it was done differently or what. Just wanted you to be aware that ive heard of some bad cases but most say its really not bad...nothing they would even mention if someone didnt ask them first.

ok........let me attempt to explain this as best as I can....

I used to have Silk Wraps with Permanent French.....silk wraps are when they put that white gauze looking paper over your nail to strengthen it (I also got silk wraps with extension because mine were so short).....then, they file file file file and use that sanding machine to make it smooth since they put several layers of that paper gauze thing. After you put the silk wraps and they are done, you can polish them with regular polish or do a basic regular french.

The permanent french (at my place) is when they file down your nail (if you do this the same time you put the silk wraps on, they will just put it underneath before all the glue and stuff) and make a thick glue line with this really sticky glue. They take your finger and put it in white powder, which makes the 'permanent french line'. They usually do this 2 times to make sure the white looks white enough. Then, they put on like tons of glue ontop and you can either do UV, which is really shiny top coat, or basic clear. UV is when they put this special glue ontop when they are done, you then put your hand in this special light machine and the gel turns really hard and really really shiny.

IM TIRED!

lol

I had the permanant french silk wraps w/extensions for a while. One thing I will say. Getting them looks really pretty and it is nice that your nails are always done, and the polish lasts much longer. My nails are so weak and I took them off 2 years ago!!!

My sister and I got permanent french for her wedding...

I am getting it for my wedding too... i just dont want to have to worry about my nails for the honeymoon... I am getting them done the day before...

It didnt ruin my nails permanently... but they file the top of your nail so what they are applying adheres to your nail... so your nails are pretty fragile after you get them off...

TIP: dont take them off yourself... go back to the nail place and let them soak your hands... so much better!
