My wedding is 10/7/06, we r very excited & have done alot so far. Would it be way to early to do flowers??? Or even just to get some quotes done??

you can definitely start looking at florists and interviewing. Depending on the florist you use, you might not have to decide on what type of flowers you want.
FYI - i'm using Burtons, they give you a $ quote on how many bo-K's and centerpieces you need instead of what kind of flowers you want.

It typically depends on your choice...I am getting married 3/31/06 & I have already spoken to my potential florist...I have to call today to schedule a meeting...I want everything done as soon as possible so I can relax

YES my thoughts exactly.......See i get soo much crap from family & friends 'oHHHH your doing things way too early', blah blah blah!
Even if i just get a quote thats a start right!?!?! I mean prices prob can go up b4 the wedding but @ least i will know a round-about figure u know.....

I've also heard that their prices are great - would you agree? I've slotted them as my top choice, without even meeting with them - just based on the perceptions I get from other brides' comments. Are they 'affordable'?

People just do not understand why we do things we do...I want to enjoy being engaged plus we are in the process of looking for a house! That is stressful enough...I want the wedding stuff done so I can concentrate on the house....Prices are a good start so you are not oblivious to the cost
