Please Help with Centerpiece Problem!

Please Help with Centerpiece Problem!

My FH owned flower shops so he's in charge of our centerpieces. He has made me a sample which is beautiful (about 50 roses and assorted other stuff - i have no clue their names - and it is exactly the colors I want). He chose high glass vases which are very nice as well.

My problem: I don't really like the look of the stems throught the glass.

I was thinking of:
1: coloring the water?
2. putting a ribbon around vase to detract from stems?

I know stems are a part of life, but for some reason they bother me.

Does anyone have any ideas for me?

Thanks for any input!

Here are some suggestions. I don't know how it will look but I think worth a try.

-colored marbles or pebbles
-tulle over the entire vase and then a nice satin ribbon.

That's all I can think of sorry good luck with it.

Ive also seen people put lemon or lime slices in the vases, which looks very pretty. It all depnds on your colors though. I also like the tulle and ribbon idea.

i like when their are large green leaves pressed against the inside of the glass. Looks fantastic.

The lemos or limes are a good idea too.

Or those clear glass marble like things.

Good luck!

I was thinking of the same thing I thing they use a rubber tree plant leaf. Verry Green, sturdy and thick. I LOVE the way they look in a vase!

Thanks for the ideas...I'm going to have him try to put those big leaves around the stems...and I'm also going to ask him to make one with river rocks!

I'll try to get pics.
Thanks again.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated as well....

Thanks...

Re: Please Help with Centerpiece Problem!

consider using clear stands and an arrangment that sits on top but is in a pie plate or a low glass (the way they often do low CPs) I saw one like that and it was great.

My florist always does the thing with the leaves in the vase, but I kinda like the natural look of the stems.
