Please help with florist decision

Please help with florist decision

We have gone to 6 florists and have different feelings ....which way would you go and do you have any experience with any of them that would help us?

Pedestals...very nice lady..a little more pricey for some of the same stuff seen elsewhere

Lovin Oven....didn't really click with Keyth....I didn' t see anything that really hit me although he is very nice and talented

Fleurafina....Rich is very nice and seems easy to work with.....was more expensive than the others....had some good ideas

Verbena....Jenn is very nice and had great prices....she sorta had a centerpiece that I liked but not sure that it was exactly it...love the idea that she comes to put the bouts on the guys and oversees everything

Sugar Magnolias.....Heidi had some great bouquet ideas and ceremony but the cp's were not really what I originally wanted ...nice ideas but not sure I want to go in that direction with cps

Flower Michele.....John didn't blow me away with his bo-k ideas but I loved a cp that I saw there...so different...but then not sure of all the bad PR lately on this place. Not sure I trust them to get it all right. They were very bad at even arranging this meeting...kept changing my date and time

So what do I do??????

I used FM, while my flowers and CPs were not exactly what I wanted, my flowers were gorgeous, lasted in the intense and ridiculous heat~I would still highly recommend them.

I think if you are not sure about them try and be more specific when it comes to what you want. My original meetings with them were great, I didnt work with John tho, and they completed MY ideas that were unfinished.

Do you know what you want as far as cps? If so why not bring that idea to one of the other vendors that you were MORE happy with what they showed you.

Truthfully-JMO-the final being vibrant and beautiful is important, not everything being exactly what i wanted. Granted I was a little po'ed that things werent exactly what I wanted, but nothing looked dead.

Good Luck I dont think you can really go wrong with any of the florists you listed

ETA: This is what was wrong

~MY bok was supposed to be wrapped with the stems covered and the ribbons were supposed to hang like streamers~the stems were uncovered and there were NO streamers
~BMs boks (we were one short on delivery and the day of my wedding while getting dressed I got a call-not from John-that my contract was wrong and what I got is what I wanted-which is NOT TRUE!) NO ROSES in the boks, the girls had baby roses in the boks, they were supposed to be tied like a maypole with the long streamers~no maypole no long streamers, they were about 5 inches long
~All the bouts were roses and were supposed to have the tips of the petals cut to look like rununculus-they didnt do this they were plain old roses
~My CPs when I went to see the sample was 1 large glass holder and 3 medium...the day of it was 1 large, 2 medium *this was the only thing that REALLY annoyed me*

Re: Please help with florist decision

I just used Flower Michele for my wedding on Saturday, and they were amazing. John was so great to work with - he's so creative and so sweet. Our flowers were GORGEOUS. My bouquet was stunning (as were all the other personal flowers), and our centerpieces were perfect. I highly recommend using Flower Michele - you will not be disappointed!

See and I have a completly differnt idea of Flower Michelle, to be honest, there wasn't a single thing that they got right with mine, and i didn't pick anything that wasn't already on thier website, and I went just a few days before to confirm everything cause at that point I had heard so many bad things i was a bit worried... I don't know I would never reccomend them. and I know of a few other girls that used them on the same weekend as I did and I think the weekend before, and they were all unhappy, they posted it here too. GL in whoever you choose. But be careful.
I will give peggy this-none of my flowers were dead, but i don't think that is a huge concern, being there on time which they weren't, giving you the Cp they made you at the sample time, which they didn't get right... and so on was very important and they couldn't do that...

I am sorry to say this too, but I had a bad experience with the customer service of Pedestals. Maybe it was just my agent or just something that doesnt happen often, but If I had the chance to do it over again it would not be with them. They were actually the middle quote for me, and I regret not going with the one slightly higher. I had such a good feeling about her, and was just trying to save alittle $$

Im bais but I used Verbena and she was great. The idea of her putting the boutineers on my guys were even better, because they would have never figured that out. Just one less thing I had to worry about. She also came on time bought all my flowers and BOKs to me in vases and she was just great to work with. I highly recommend her. And her prices were so well worth it. She came through when I was ready to give up on flowers and the prices I was getting quoted were just outrageous.

Did not have a horrible experience with FM, but not a great one. I am still waiting to be compensated!!!

I think it hit or miss with them. nothing arrived wilted, but I revieved things that were not what we discussed.

I went over my contact a million times and it was still wrong! They were missing a few iotems that I paid for and their was delivery confusion.

Also, the roses in my bouquet were falling out. So I won't say 'don't go wit them, I am just sharng my experiece!

Good Luck!

I used Lovin Oven - I loved how creative Keyth was, and he was wonderful throughout the planning process.

However, we had a problem day-of with the deliveries - we were short a boutonnière for my grandfather (luckily they'd put an extra of the groomsmen's bouts in there, so it was ok), and the delivery of flowers to my parents' house was a good 30-40 minutes late, and there was some sort of mix up about which flowers were supposed to come to the house - we'd asked for all the bridal party flowers to be sent to the house except for the grandparents' flowers, and we ended up with only the BRIDE'S side's flowers, which wasn't what we'd meant... I'm still not sure where the disconnect was or whose fault it was, but that's the way it worked out.

The flowers were gorgeous and were pretty much exactly what he'd shown me and what we'd contracted for, and they were beautiful, vibrant, and fresh-looking all night. So... I'm divided. Everything was beautiful, but they were also pretty much the only vendor we had any real issues with, in terms of the delivery being so late (which pushed our pictures back 30-40 minutes, which pushed everything back, which meant we were rushing like crazy before the ceremony, which was bad).

I used FM and although I've also read some mixed reviews lately, once I do finally write MY review of FM it will be an A++++++ John was great to work with and I changed my CP about 3 times! lol however YOU need to be confident with the vendors you choose, and if for any reason you aren't- don't book them!! I've also read wonderful things about Verbena & Sugar Magnolias.

I wish I had gone with Sugar Magnolias. I know she is a bit pricey, but she seemed so sincere, and real and actually cared about her brides. She is young, so she has that different edge that is rustic yet new. It is a regret I knew I made before my wedding.

Pedestals hands down!!! I just had my wedding and they did an excellent job! So many ppl came up to me and raved about them. I went with Marcella. She's awesome!!! I totally recommend them!

We used Flower Michele and were pretty happy with the quality and design. One issue I had with them was it took a while--sometimes over a week--to get a response. This may have affected some of the requests I had in terms of changes.

This is was early in the year, even before some of the personnel turnover and complaint issues in the second half of 2007 came up. Other posts on LIW seem to indicate that John admitted he took on too much in 2007 and is planning on scaling back for 2008.

We used Lovin' Oven and they were GREAT! We got married at Land's End on 11/3 and it was stormy almost the whole day. I was down about the weather until I walked in and saw my flowers. They rocked!

By the time the ceremony started, we had a gorgeous sunset. The chuppah was set up in front of the windows in the ballroom and it looked absolutely amazing.

I don't know how to post pics but will try tonight when I have access to my home computer.

I used Flower Michele for my wedding last month and everything came out perfect. The centerpieces looks just like the samples, my bouquet was just what I asked for and the delivery was on time.
