Please Help with Honeymoon!

We are getting married Saturday 12/12, want to leave on Monday 12/14 and go somewhere tropical. Were originally thinking Bora Bora/Moorea, but we also want to save $$ for a house, babies, etc.

Can anyone recommend some tropical places for 2 weeks in December? We don't want to stay in 1 island, we'd like to visit two, to break it up, and we don't want to go on a cruise.

Any clue how it is in December? Or how much it would cost for 2 weeks? I have heard mixed reviews re: December weather.

December weather is great in Hawaii - Hawaii has a stable climate all year 'round. The 'rainy' season is Jan-March but the ecosystems on the islands are so different. It can be pouring on one side of the island and you take a drive to the other side and it's beautiful out.

Plus, December you have the added bonus of it being whale season.

It's very pricey Christmas week (what place isn't?). We are going mid-November to the first week of December and got an outrageous deal. We are going to 3 islands (Oahu, Kauai and Maui) for 23 days for about $7,200 - which includes hotels, breakfast, rental car on each island and inter-island flights). We used a combination of FF miles and AMEX points for the airfare to/from NY.

We would come home day after Christmas, so hopefully wouldn't get slammed with high rates the whole time....

Any other island suggestions?

What about going to the the seychelle islands? I know the peak season there is December.

It's on the list of places FH and I want to eventually get to....

When we were potentially considering an island for December, I researched Antigua and Aruba the most extensively...they both have great weather then, like 78-80 on avg and very low chance of rain. The US Virgin Islands also have decent weather then, but a bit cooler and a bit more chance of rain. Dominican Republic was on par with the US Virgins. St. Lucia is definitely out though, December is their rainy season and has an avg. of 10' for the month, and I didn't like those odds.
