I'm asking for a friend at work whose nephew is getting married...his fiance cannot find a dress she likes and wants to have one 'made' for her, basically, she has 2 pictures...she wants the top of one dress, and the bottom of another, essentially...
can any of you recommend wedding dress places that she can go to and have a dress custom made?

Tell her to go to Lillette's in Baldwin and check out the Jasmine line. Jasmine bridal allows you to 'cut and paste' their gowns together so you can choose the top from one gown and the bottom from another, without them being separates. This is what I was going to do......until I found my dream gown

if theyre both from the same designer they usually can do this for you from any salon that has those dresses

Demetrios does this for their gowns. I think a lot of designers will do this, actually. You just can't mix designers. They are very picky about that!

where does she live? the seamstress at adrienes in islip is a friend of my MIL. from what I understand she can do that.

thank you all!! i don't know if her 2 pics are of the same designer or not...if they are it will be a lot easier!!
but if not then thank you to those of you who mentioned some other places that may do this!!

She can try Ingrid's in Setauket/Stony Brook. I know Cecelia, who was my seamstress, makes gowns and all the girls who live in that area go there for proms and weddings.
