So I am getting married on Sat and I am a mess. LOL. I want to write out the tip envelopes but does anyone have the list of who to tip and how much. Also, there are 3 people with the DJ, 2 with the photographer...so do I put all the money in one envelope and assume they split it (ie the 3 people from the DJ company)...or do they all get their own envelope. Just because the DJ says they usually receive a 10 percent tip on the contract price. That would be $250. So do they all split that?? I can not see giving all 3 off them $250. There is a DJ, MC and a photographer (for the photo montage).
OK...any advice is appreciated

Does your contract say anything about tips? Mine specifies who to tip at the RH and what the price range is. If not, I think the norm for the Maitre D' is in the $500 range and the bridal attendant would be about $100-$150.
For the photographer and DJ, I'd put the tip in one envelope and give it to the most senior member of the team with instructions to share it with the others. I'm sure they know the drill.

I never knew the DJ is supposed to get 10% of the contract. That would be a little more than $250 for me as well and I didn't plan on tipping that much. Honestly, I think some of the percentages vendors give for recomennded tips is a little crazy!
There are so many tips to be divided and I can't believe we will be handing out 2k in tips!!!! So here is my list... Hope this helps a little!

yay im getting married on saturday too!! i have no idea about tips tho...sorry! all i know is your not suppose to tip the photographer until you get your album...or thats what i was told anyways

$536 for limos...That's crazy!!! I think these vendors have big balls to say you have to tip X amount. I think it they should be happy with what u give them!!

Crashing...is the limo quote correct? No offense but that's crazyyyy!!! Usually the tip is included w/the limo price that you pay. Check your contract...
Also to the OP: I never heard of tipping the DJ or any vendor 10%! That's over the top and I just get annoyed when I hear that they are trying to take advantage of ppl like that!! Most brides I know and from what I have read on here give between $50-$100 at the most. I would give the DJ $75 or $100 tops. You are already paying them a lot!

Thank you everyone. The dj was the one who told me they get 10-15 percent of the original contract price...which is 2500. I think that is crazy as well. I think these tips are nutz since I am paying sooooo much for everything to begin with.

I just checked my contract and it says all jobs 20% gratuity not included - I have to add that on top and it totals $536. And it specifically says 20% should be added. You prob pay it too but its built into the cost -- I would think atleast... I think its very annoying that they tell you the % to add.
