Sorry, I'm about to be a debbie downer...

I just found out today that one of the customers at the deli who I have known for years died of a heart attack on Sunday. Some of you may have heard of him if you watch Comedy Central Standup - Mike DeStefano (he was on last season's 'Last Comic Standing' and finished in 4th place). He was only 44!!! His passing saddens me not just because of the fact that I am never going to see him at the store anymore and be entertained by his crude sense of humor which always made me laugh, but it saddens me more that he has worked so damn hard over the years to make it big in comedy and just when he was of the verge of truly making it, he's taken away from us. My heart goes out to his family right now, who I know is taking this very hard. I know they are fortunate enough to have an entire community of people who loved Mike dearly and will help them get through this.

Just keep them in your prayers.

We lost a lot of good people this week. My friend's friend was the student who was lost in Madrid and they just found his body today.


May their souls rest in peace..
