Please keep your fingers crossed... (UPDATE)

Please keep your fingers crossed... (UPDATE)

While we were eating dinner last night, my husband had some kind of seizure while he passed out with his eyes open! It didn't last long, maybe 10-15 seconds, but it SCARED ME TO DEATH!!! He doesn't really remeber what happened except he said he went numb. A few seconds before that he had a really painful burp in his chest, and then this happened? I wanted to take him to the hospital last night, but he refused to go. He's been absolutely fine since then? This happened of course during the hurricane! (We live in North Carolina) We have been together for over 10 years, and this has never happened before... all I could do was cry! I thought he was messing around like he usually does. We have a doctor's appt today at 4pm. I hope it's nothing serious!!! I know he's worried too because we also have a baby on the way! Has anyone every experienced this before with anyone? As far as we know, he's healthy!

Well... he refused to go the ER. But we did go to doctors yesterday. He's scheduled for a CT on Tuesday. And then he might need an EEG and go see a Neurologist after that. I can't stop getting tears in my eyes. We're just praying it's not serious. He doesn't show he's scared, but I know he is. I can't believe this happened. I keep thinking of bad things, and I just couldn't live without him! We've been together for over 10 years! This is so scary... he's only 25 (almost 26)! I don't want to be anywhere but with him. We don't talk about it really, we just keep looking at each other. I just want to cry and cry and cry!!! I just pray that it's something minor! I'm sure he's scared too because of the baby. Everytime something goes good for us, something worse has to happen. After the first test, the doctor said she'll only call right away if there's some really abnormal with the results. What scares me too is that my DH has been having a lot of headaches lately. That's what concerns the doctor also. OMG... please let my DH be allright!

Also, right after it happened, I called his mom in Maryland to tell her and ask her opinion on what we should do... (Now I called her crying!) She knew she was going to the doctors the next day, and she didn't even bother calling us asking us what they said about it!!! How @%#! up is that!!! Your only son, and you can't even call! Now it's one thing to forget your DIL B-day last week and not call, but for godsakes... her son is scared to death, and she can't even call to see how he's doing? We haven't talked to her, but if we did, she'd tell us that they've been busy setting up their 2nd store (Curves) which opens on Monday. You know what... TO HE LL WITH HER STORE! Your SON should come first. How long does a phone call take??? I'm sorry for rambling, I just have no one else to vent to. Thanks for all the thoughts... I'll let you know on Tuesday how it goes!

Aww - try to hang in there until you get the results. Try not to work yourself up about it... bc it might be something so minor. Hope everything works out ok. Fingers and toess are crossed

I hope everything is ok. I'm glad he is going to the dr. You need to find out what caused this and what you can do so it doesn't happen again.

GET HIM TO THE DOCTOR IMMEDIATLY. THAT ISN'T NORMAL AND SHOULD BE EVALUALTED BY A PROFESSIONAL.

Melissa, I am so sorry this happened! It could be a heart attack. My dad has had many heart attacks and they've all happened differently (oddly). But, I remember him 'passing out' on the couch once and his eyes were open and he made a strange gurgling sound. When he 'woke up' from it, he did not remember anything and REFUSED to go to the hospital.

I suggest taking your DH to the hospital RIGHT NOW - do not wait for 4 PM. If it was a heart attack, they would want to start treatment right away to help perserve/repair any damage to the heart muscle.

Best wishes...try not to get too upset until you know for sure what's going on. You have to stay calm for the baby too!
Keep us posted!

Re: Please keep your fingers crossed...

Please take him to a hospital right now. It might have indeed been a heart attack. I have heard of things like that happening and it turned out to be a heart attack. I hope all this talk isn't scaring you.
Better to go now - and I know once you tell the ER triage nurse you think you had a heart attack they bring you in right away.
