Also- my mom and FMIL think we should take out 'number of guests attending' because people might tkae it as an open invitation to write '5' when it was only a couple invited. however, how do we know if someone is bringing a guest if we dont have that space? any suggestions?
thanks girls!

We took out the number of guest line, for that same reason (don't know if people would actually try to do that but didn't want to give them the opportunity). We figured people can just write on the M____ line the names of the people who will be attending. We have received a bunch back and so far everyone seems to understand what to write!

I didn't put number of guests attending on mine, but I do like it there to make it easier for you to quickly know how many are coming. Usually people will just write next to the M. Mrs. ____ and (name of guest). That's what I've always done when responding.

I got the personalized cards for that reason....plus I think they look pretty (& more formal) aaaand no need to # the cards!
i would keep the number of guests IMO. we had several situations where we invited with a guest or a couple but only one could attend.

Re: Please look over my invites!! and a question
hope you want me to be honest....
im weird BUT
I would say 'Ceremony' not 'to the ceremony' because you have the place under it....
Also I would say 'as' they get married not 'when'
then again i can be really picky some times....
hope i didnt offend
LOVE colors and design though

Great invites!!! :) I just kept the M____ and the _accepts with pleasure/ _ declines with regret. That way they fill in their names (if only one can make it, only one name) and then check the appropriate line. I don't think you need the _number attending at all. (especially if you are not inviting kids, if you are, maybe it can get to be too much to write the names of their five kids and I would keep it :)

LOL I thought the same thing with the 'as' vs 'when' they get married, but it really is whatever you prefer. I decided that unless the guest is a bride to be, they probably don't read all the jargon... just the time and place.
But I like the 'To the Ceremony' because it is the directions and then it mirrors the 'To the Reception'

Re: Please look over my invites!! and a question
problem I thought of with personalized response cards is that if someone does invite a guest and you don't know their name, the blank line is their opportunity to write it in so you have it for placecards. Otherwise your placecard would also say 'and guest' and I like it to be personalized for everyone. :)

Re: Please look over my invites!! and a question
The personalized response cards are a REALLY good idea because TRUST ME when I say that we had over 20 people at our wedding who were not invited, but were just added on by random people. Had we not gotten so many no's, we would have had to call all these people and tell them that they couldn't bring these guests, but we got way more no's than we expected. We invited 3 people from Staten Island on DH's side and 10 wound up coming. It was ridiculous! So I agree that when you leave the option of them filling in the # of guests, they'll be generous and just bring whoever they want... I wanted to cry every time we got rsvps in the mail!

Re: Please look over my invites!! and a question
I too left out the # attending line. I'm putting who is invited on the inner envelope and FH's family is already annoyed we're not inviting kids and I felt like they would put down the kids and then we have to make that call, which would just start a war. If someone just writes down 'mr joe smith' when he was invited with a guest, I have no problem calling that person to find out if they are coming alone or not.
