Please read before I go off the deep end

Does anyone know how to go about getting a new birth certificate and social security card??

Dont ask but I am fuming!!!!!!

For a birth certificate, you would probably have to contact either the hospital you were born in or the Town Hall of the town you were born in. It would have to be one or the other.

I believe you need to go to town hall. Try this site:

For SS card, I believe you need your birth certificate to get another one.

Jenn is right about the BC.

You will need to go down to SS to get a new card. My idiot brother has lost his twice and he has never had a problem getting another.

I think you may be able to replace your SS with your driver's license.

Try their website.

For your Birth Certificate you may have to contact the County you were born in for a copy. (this is tough for me cause I was born in Texas, so I keep tons of extra copies of it and I am checking on the original every month or so)

Not sure about the SS card - probably have to go through SS offices. For the birth cert - go to the town hall in the city you were born - they will give you your certified BC for a fee (anywhere between $5-15).

if you were born in the 5 boroughs you can go to worth street in downtown manhattan. if you bring the right id they can give it to you right then. i think its like 15 dollars i dont remember the fee exactly
