Okay something so scary just happened to me and I wanted to tell you guys so it wont happen to you. I went to my email account and I got an email that said ' receipt from dicks sporting good store' I was like huh? I never ordered anything from them!! So I clicked on it and read the email and it was an email that came froma site that LOOKED LIKE 'paypal' It looked identical to the actually paypal site!! So immediatly I was pissed, i thought someone ordered something in my name. So there was a link at the bottom of the page that said 'dispute transaction' and I was wondering why it was the ONLY link. SO i told FH and he is a computer expert and was amazed on how well these guys did on RECREATING the paypal website. If I would of clicked on it then I would of had to of given them my user name and password and they would THEN have enough info to rob me of a few thousand dollars that I have in my account!!! Its disgusting how people actually do this! but its out there and i never thought it would happen to me...and thank God I didnt fall for it! THis is called a 'Phishing scam' Its when people recreate websites adn they get innocent people to put in there info through email and then they use it to rob you. You can never tell that its a fake....but one thing is for sure...your bank account, cell phone bills, credit cards will never ask you for your info through email....and to be sure just go to a web browser and put the actual web address in yourself. Its very important that you do NOT give any important info out through email....if you have trouble understanding what a phishing scam is...google search it!!! Sorry this is long but it may help you in the future!!
