Please read...47days to the wedding and HUGE issue with my dress (LONG!!)

I'm going to post this on the other boards as well to warn other brides. Cause if I can save just one other bride from the stress and heartbreak I just have it was worth it.

To sum it up before I get into the details - ALEXIS GEORGIO IS NOT A RELIABLE DESIGNER (from my recent dealings).

In my hunt for 'The One' I went to three different bridal shops and tried on 50+ dresses. The last dress I put on was an Alexis Georgio and I finally got the feeling of 'The One'. I ordered it from Lillette's beginning of January with the thought of it coming in with plenty of time for fittings. Fast forward to last Tuesday (around 7 1/2 weeks till the wedding) when my MOH and I went to try on her BM dress. That went great and I asked about my dress. Lillette's was going to get in touch with the designer and would get back to me. They called the day they said and told me the designer would get back to then on Monday but since they're closed they would call Tuesday. To my surprise I got a call Saturday from Lillette's asking if I could come in Sunday cause there was a situation with the dress. I go in Sunday to look at the dresses. I saw the 'new' dress that was sent by the designer and the sample that I had tried on back in January that has now been cleaned to the best of their ability. The SAMPLE was in better condition than my 'NEW' dress. The designer sent the 'new' dress, Lillette's looked it over and told Alexis Georgio this was NOT a new dress at all. It was sent back because Lillette's was told he would fix it. He sent it back just changing some of the beads on the bodice. This ' new' dress was discolored, uneven hem so that the underlining was showing and there was some marks on the dress. Like I said...the SAMPLE was better than the dress he brought over (he literally brought it to Lillette's in that condition thinking he could pass off another SAMPLE for a $3,000 new dress!)

Lillette's is AMAZING! This was not their fault but did what they could to get my 'new' dress from the designer but at this time we're not trusting him to make right as he's obviously proven wrong the first 2 attempts at a wearable, new dress. Donna is a saint and Lydia is an angel for being so patient having me try on more dresses.

So with 47 days to the wedding I have a new dress...well maybe new. I will find out tomorrow if I will be able to get the brand new Demetrious gown or have the 3 month old sample that is in great condition. Everything happens for a reason...I was never meant to have my first dress as my Demetrious gown is stunning and flatters my shape so incredibly well!!!

I only write this to warn future brides so this doesn't happen to them.

P.S. Sorry this is so long...didn't want to cut anything out.

I'm SO sorry that happened! But you are right...everything does happen for a reason. That is such a great attitude for you to have, because it's so true.

Oddly enough - it's the saying that brought FH and I together. We both had some bad things happen in our lives that if they didn't - we wouldn't have found each other. I have found the dress I was MEANT to have from the beginning. And it still works with the shoes and veil already purchased. I'm really lucky. But I want to stop as many brides as I can from buying from this desinger.

OMG Lauren, I'm so sorry!!!
you and I have been chatting about this for a while now, as I have an alexis georgio dress and I was told the horror stories beforehand.

I can't say I'm not surprised with what you said... because he's known to do that... I just wish you would have had that bit of information before buying a dress from him. My dress is a sample, because bridal elegance had stopped carrying him for that very reason, so I lucked out... I just wish you could have too... then again, it seems like you might have. you seem much happier with the new dress (demetrious).. I'm sure its GORGEOUS! you need to post a pic ASAP!
it just sucks that you had to go through this headache and drama.. I'm so sorry!

but like you and jen said, everything happens for a reason.

i suggest posting this on the BHB, 2011 and 2012 boards and letting them know too, even though alexis georgio dresses are absolutely gorgeous, the customer service sucks and he's a bit of a flake.

I want to post it everywhere about Alexis Georgio! Everything worked out for me...I do wish I could have known this before I even ordered. I can't get a new dress in time (Lillette's just called...Donna is such a sweetheart). So the sample of my new dress is being sent to the cleaners. So I guess I can officially say...MY DRESS IS IN!!!!!!
