I am not sure. My friend Andrea (mendi725 used her 2 weeks after me) I think a lot of the 08 girls booked her. Plus she has like 3 other girls that work for her company if she were booked

i have a question - what does the DOC do? my FH keeps telling me that if you have a good maitre d at the RH you dont need a DOC - he said DOCs are good if you have a really huge wedding, or a wedding that is at a location - like where there is site, and caterer, and things like that (not a RH wedding) - he says we don't need one - i believe him since he has a lot of experience and he sees what goes on behind the scenes - so what exactly does the DOC do?

OMG - Ryan (from above & beyond events)....what did she NOT DO?
1. Sat down with me, and figured out tips for everyone. She held all the envelopes. She gave me PRACTICAL tipping advice.
2. She came to the RD to meet everyone in the BP and the friends who were there so that she could speak to them by name the following day.
3. Our flower girls' dress ripped when she was walking up the stairs. She was HYSTERICAL crying for 2 minutes and then Ryan was there, with rubber duckies and had her giggling while she sewed up her dress.
4. She carried anything i would need - so i wouldn't need a purse. She had my ID, lipstick, everything.
5. Once at the RH - our florist was running late, and she was on the phone with her ensuring that she would make it and was fully prepared to go somewhere to get us flowers.
6. She had food packed up from the RH for us and put into tupperware so that we could eat later in the night.
7. She made sure EVERYTHING was perfect for the ceremony & reception. The DJ started playing the wrong song for the cake cutting - Dave & I didn't notice...really - three notes in - she ran by and said, 'i got it'. We both looked at each other and were like, WHAT? The song changed and we both realized. How did she know 3 notes in? I dunno...but she did.
She was the single best part of our wedding! I could not ask for more and i cannot recommend her enough. She has also become a trusted friend, within 10 minutes of meeting her, you'll want to share your life story with her!

I wasn't going to have one, but decided today that I need one. I don't want to waste time chasing family members for photos or worrying about tipping who needs to be tipped. I'll let them do that for me.

Your fh is technically right. I hired Christine for half of the day b/c I knew I wouldnt really need her once the reception started.
She was at my house while we were all getting ready and she helped put out all the food and clean up before we left the church. She helped put my dress on.
She went to the church early to make sure all was set up properly and she did the boutineres for all the guys.
She came to the beach for pics after the church and literally carried the train of my dress the entire time.
When we got to the reception she again made sure all was correct. She re-curled my hair cause the beach ruine dit a little bit and she also handed out all the tips so we did not have to worry about it.
Do I think she was necessary? NO Do I think it eased my mind having her? YES And if there were a problem with anything she could have taken care of it.
Once the reception started I actually had 2 maitre d's who were at my beck and call so need there.

yeah i dont think we need one, i think it would be nice to have one for when i am getting ready though - to make sure that hair and make up is on schedule and to make sure we dont forget anything at the hotel - for stuff like that - but im hoping it wont be too crazy - there are only 5 of us getting hair and make up including myself, so i think it will be ok (i hope! )
