I am still looking for 'the place' I cancelled my original RH b/c we realized there was no way we would be able to afford it. Then I was going to have a Destination Wedding, but that was turning out to be quite expensive too. Please recommend anything that would be under $100. I want something laid back, beachy, garden, outdoors, etc... Anything like that would work.
I would have a big bbq if I knew someone w/a big enough backyard. At this point, I am very flexible. We want to put the money towards a house instead. TIA

Even though it's not much of what you asked for PLEASE check out The Metropolitan in Glen Cove. The food is amazing and i know it can be under $100 pp depending on the day and time of year, etc. There is a smaller club downstairs and there is Morgan Park about 2 minutes around the corner for pictures.
I second this, as I'm getting married there as well. If you want to stay under $100pp total (including tax and tip), you have to do it on an off-day (Friday or Sunday) likely -- but it's absolutely amazing and the food is to die for!

Stewart Manor COuntry Club.... see my review.... we paid only about $65 per person and that was WITH tax and gratuity. We had a great experience with them... we were a February Saturday. afternoon
i second SMCC. we paid about $77 a head total for a fri eve wedding in August.
My brother was married there a few years ago. I have to say that the food was GREAT!

I would recommend the Swan Club too! I'm going to contract this week with them! I got the Platinum Package which is a little over $100 but they also have a Silver package for under $100 (it doesnt have Vienese and the extra seafood boat) but its a beautiful place. I still cant get over how reasonable it is! I was starting to get sick looking at all these places that were $120 and above and didnt even include vienese hr!
Remember the price does not include tax and gratuity! I learned that one pretty quick! Good luck!

Believe it or not....almost all the places I went to were under 100$ a head BUT with some of then you have to sacrifice the day and the season, or book them 6 months before your actually wedding. CLM, Crest hollow, Westbury, Timberpoint, West sayville CC, Captain Bills, snapper inn, riverview......the list goes onnnn Fm me for more details.

I would recommend Bridgeview Yacht Club (I'm only paying $95pp but I got the Fri night rate), Swan Club, San Souci (if its a smaller affair) and the Coral House is wayyy less then $100pp and I have been to two weddings there and the food and service is worth more then what they charge.

I think it may be hard to find under 100pp (including tax and gratiuity ) in May.. would u be willing to move it up to March or Feb? u'll have a much better chance of getting that rate with a wider selection of halls.. May is the beginning of the prime season...

OMG We were going to do a backyard BBQ too, but after the rental costs (tents, tables, chairs, linens, etc.) we figured it would not only be too much work but it would be more $$$ than we planned on spending. I am getting married & having our reception @ the Holbrook Country Club. I absolutely love it. http://www.trioattheholbrookcountryclub.com/
