Please remind me why I am doing this

This wedding is really starting to loose its meaning. Its becoming all about money and extras and competition. I am so depressed right now

so sorry you feel that way lots of hugs for you

maybeyou should sit down and talk to your fh or whoever you are having a conflict with and explain to them how you feel. when planning your wedding you shouldnt feel depressed and aggrivated. (well you should get arrgrivated only for certain reason....these are the wrong reasons). your wedding should be about the two of you and how much you love each other. not how much money you spend and what you have better then another person. it is supposed to be what the two of you want. keep that in the back of your head. i had the same thing going on with me and i finally gave everyone a peice of my mind and told then the facts and the way that i felt. eventually everything was laid out on the table and the problem was fixed. i hope that everything works out for you. please let us know more hugs

Well than stop making it about that lol sounds dumb but if you make your day about what makes you happy and what is nice to you then everyone will love it. If you are miserable and unhappy cause someone outdid your wedding...be happy with what you have!!

It will be all worth it in the end, I promis! Just remember to step back and breath! I did a lot of deep breathing exercises!!

Hi, I'm a little confused..did you change your wedding date b/c your file indicates your wedding took place in Dec '04?

Anyway, what I would suggest is to take a little break from the planning (stress, etc.) and regroup..think about the big picture...in the end, you're really celebrating a wonderful occasion with the person you love. It's just a party (larger scale) for you and your future hubby. As far as the $ situation goes, try not to stress too much about it...just don't go beyond what the both of you can reasonably afford. Money will always be spent...and this is for a worthy cause.

Try to step back a lttle and regroup. I understand that the planning can get overwhelming. You feel pulled on sides and everybody is giving you advise. Always remember that it is your day and it will be wonderful. Sometime it is great to step away and not thinkabout it for a day or so and then get back into it. It will work out.

I'm confused too. Is your wedding over already? There's nothing that says you have to be sucked into a competition. You plan the wedding that YOU want.

It's hard. When things start getting like that for me --when I feel like I need this & that to be 'better' than someone else's wedding, I just think to myself: --What is it that I remember about the last wedding I attended? The invitations? Whether the bride spent a lot or a little, they are all in the trash now. The programs? Same as the invitatons. The cake? I think it was pretty, but all wedding cakes are pretty... And the bride? I have no idea if her dress was $6500 or $600 all I remember was she looked beautiful. Try not to let others stress you out. And believe me, you're not alone.

a lot of folks will give you crap but it will pass. take a break if you can, and don't worry about it all for a short while, and try to really communicate with your FH. HE is the reason you are getting married! and in the end i think that will be your overall feeling. no one knows your specific situation and pressures so all your feelings are valid but try and remember the positive.
