Please send happy thoughts to my DH and our family

I have not been on too ofter lately mostly lurking but i really need some happy thoughts thrown our way.......
As some of you knwo my FIL has been sick with cancer...apparntly it was much more progressed than he let us know...yesterday the doctors gave him 3-6 months...DH and his family will be moving him to hospice soon. His mother has been ill for sometime she can not do anything for herself either and has been in a nursing home for over 2 years she has decided when FIL goes into the hospice so wil she and she is stopping dyalisis , it is the only thing keeping her alive they are 77 and 80 and at the stages of their illnesses there is nothing we can do but wait, chemo isnt helping and the cancer is in all of his bones a bone marrow transplant is not an option either....so in the next few months FIL and MIL will be gone i am being as spportive as i can for him its so hard we are the onlyones here tho is sister has been driving 8 hours from upstate when she can to help out...his other brothers are in AZ and germany so we are the ones takign care of everything.....we have been taking care of him since right after the wedding when he started getting sick.........please send hapy thoughts our way

oh my goodness knowing that your mom and dad will both be gone has got to be so difficult for your DH (and you!). i cannot even imagine.

i will keep everyone in my prayers...

I am praying for your family. Please let me know if I can help. I am a social worker for a managed care company and we provide services in home for situations like this. Not sure if he is already receiving in home services but if not he is definitely entitled. I am so sorry that you are going through this

I am SO SORRY that you and your family are going thru this. Having had to watch my FMIL pass away last year I could not even imagine dealing with the loss of both parents around the same time. I truly know how hard it is to stay strong for your DH and his family. The best I can say is to use your friends and your family when you need someone to lean on. You need to be able to let go once in a while too. I know you don't know me but if you need to talk to someone that some what understands what you are going thru feel free to FM me. You are all in my thoughts.

Heather, I am so sorry!!! We are moving my only living Aunt to a hospice type home tomorrow. She's already on hospice at home but it's not enough.

Very sad. I am praying for your inlaws.

I cannot begin to tell you how bad i feel for you, DH and his family. I cannot imagine what you and his family are going through. I will be praying for you both and that as they go, it is quick and as painless as possible.

I'm so sorry to hear that you have to experience this situation. I just experienced it with my aunt and it was very heart wrenching to see a person deal with it. My prayers go out to you and your family in this difficult process. But, I know it's very comforting to your DH knowing that he has you by his side to get him through this

Heather you are an extremely strong person for not only taking care of your In-laws but being your husbands support too -- I can only imagine how emotionally and physically draining it must be.
