For ladies who sent out card/invite type of STD (non-magent)
How did you word them??

mine were very simple, a 4x6 size card that was our color scheme
Bride& Groom stamp at the top that I bought at Michaels, then:
Save the date
Blah and blah are getting married!!
The date
the Place
Formal invitation to follow,

the back of the card had our hotel block info & our website

very simple, but everyone loved them!!

I am working on mine now. They will say 'We're Tying the Knot' and will have a bow under it. Then it will say 'Save the date for the wedding of blah and blah, date, place, Formal invitation to follow'

My STDs were a little card, I put a magnet on the back. It said:
Save the Date!
Susannah and Doug are excited to announce their wedding date! July 3, 2008
Invitation to follow

The little bride and groom is a sticker that they put on their calendar

I don't remember who I 'borrowed' this from (I know I didn't think of it on my own):

Wayne bought the ring...Susan said yes!
There's going to be a wedding
and we hope you'll be our guest

Please save the date
October 8, 2005

mine were a bussiness size card. It had a cake (its in my album) one the left hand side and said 'Save the Date/Carolyn and Evan/June 2, 2007/3 pm./Invitations to follow.
The / indicate the differentlines.
The cards were ivory and I got them from Staples, they are an Avery product, I'm not sure which style but they were from the 'clean edge' line. Theres a template you can use to add whatever you want also.
